I think it could be the case that his value hasn't changed much. He made it into the Ireland team before signing for Hull. He only managed 16 appearances in his first season for Hull, so I don't think you can really call it "two solid seasons" either, although I accept it's a bit of a moot point.

Your stats are all over the place I'm afraid.

He played 41 games for us in his first season, 34 in his second season, 18 in his third season(he missed a large part of the season through injury) and 32 last season.

It was his performances for us in his first season that got him his full international call-up, he's never played senior football for any club other than Hull City.

You agree a fee for a player and then sort the payment terms, you don't bid £2m for a player and then claim it's because that club already owes you a few million. Obviously any outstanding payments for Snodgrass would be written off against a fee Brady, but that's separate to the valuation of the player.

Clearly you've never seen an actual bid. The substantive terms (especially sell-on clauses, add-ons for targets and debt write-offs) will be listed. Otherwise it would be impossible to value the bid.

Alex Neil didn't send Brucey a text saying just:

Brady - £2m?

Seriously? You do understand that we are talking about his valuation when Man U sold him? It's only his performances after that that can affect his valuation since then.

Plus he played a League Cup match for Man U so your final sentence is just wrong.

We actually have 5 options for 2 places at CB, 3 options for RB (including EB), and two at LB as well as Whittaker and Miquel who can also play there, so it isn't panic stations. I think we will get another CB in and Brady or another option at LB. Even in the relegation year, our defense kept Man City and Spurs scoreless at CR and Chelsea scoreless at Stamford Bridge. There's room for improvement certainly, but no reason to panic, IMO.
Good try Rick but theoretically anybody can play anywhere - Cody McDonald did a stint in goal but that didn't make him a goalkeeping option - and nobody can play in 2 places at once. EB is not a RB, RM is either our RB or CB and Miquel is either a LB who can play CB in an emergency or the other way round. We are now in the Premier league and you require a settled unit. You cannot say to Bassong that Martin is your CB partner and then next week it is Miquel because Whittaker is injured and the following week it is Bennett because Olssen is suspended. You need proper cover for all positions and we haven't got that.

I can see your logic 1950, but to do that we'd have to sacrifice options elsewhere. We aren't going to stay up simply by trying to prevent other sides scoring against us. Staying up requires scoring enough goals, which we certainly didn't do in the relegation season. The 25 man squad squeezes things very tight. As I said, I think we will strengthen at CB and LB (at the expense of Turner and/or Miquel), but I doubt that we'll have two players at every defensive position.

What? You're relegating him to the U21 Development squad? The senior squad is in Germany! ;)
I'm forgetting everything today. First I forget Miquel then I forget where the squad is. Time to go to the Pub. With a bit of luck I will forget to come home!!!!

He certainly didn't get an international call-up based on four minutes in a cup game. <laugh>

This post would make perfect sense if only I had said that he got an international call-up based on four minutes in a cup game. As it is, I refer you back to post [HASHTAG]#1503[/HASHTAG].

On which note, I can't quite believe that the majority of these 1500 posts are people repeatedly explaining the same thing to OriginalLambMan.

So....Mpemba? Supposedly Newcastle have agreed a £7.5m deal for him, and we're trying to muscle in, presumably by offering more playing time and using his international colleague Mulumbu to sell the club.

Very young, promising CB for similar money to van Dijk. Personally of the two I'd rather have van Dijk, though expect we'll get neither.

Bloody hell Rob, talk about clutching at straws! <laugh>

(this isn't an invite to actually start talking about the act of clutching at some straws by the way, before you get all literal on my sorry ass!)

? He posted that Brady had never got a single senior cap elsewhere. I was simply pointing out that he had actually. Not really a case of clutching at straws, literally or metaphorically

I don't want to get drawn into this, but does a 4 minute cup appearance in any way detract from the actual point being made?

Nope. It was an aside and clearly stated separately on that basis. I only picked up on it because this Lambretta chap insists upon misinterpreting everything posted.

It amused me that he was so definitively incorrect when everything else is a lot of opinion stated as fact, which means he keeps skewing what people sayf That's why I'm still convinced he's just wumming
