I guess due to what we had at the end of the Sheepshanks era it feels different to what I'm used to, where the Sheepshanks and Manager are the public face with the CEO Derek Bowden more in the background just getting on with things... and this has definitely been the Mark Ashton show with Cook and O'Leary more in the background.
What's the point of having a Chairman if the CEO is going to be the figure head of the club. Alot of the names mentioned in this thread have been Chairman not CEOs and there is a difference. Ashton clearly knows what he is doing and says the right things, I'm just cautious (perhaps read too much about his time at previous clubs) that he doesn't over step the mark in terms of his responsibilities.
This is clearly better than the situation we've been used to, I think we've actually probably had some decent manager in the ME era but they've all cracked because they've had no one else to hide behind.
