If we get a decent wing back for first team of at worse, cover, this will have been the best transfer window for a good few years.

Good letter Bri and thank you, you are right in many respects, and we did have some great loan players in the past but since say M'Vila's loan, one of the best ever imo., I can off hand think of many that have only restricted our own players, take Assoro and Maja, we favoured loanees from ManU and Boro., who greatly contributed to our decline with under par game after game, as often happens as management try to justify **** recruitments. My championing will go further and I think we had two young promising full backs in Josh and Tom Robson who along with Ethan were once outstanding prospects we have lost two while farting about with Love and a prat from Everton instead of giving Tom and Josh a chance, and this is repeated over and over imo. On top of this the benefit of those who do play well is that they return to their parent clubs and we are back to square one. I think loans should be the last resort, not the first as with previous managers, Bruce and Coleman in particular. I, like you, base my views independently, using past experience and observation, we may both be wrong and the truth is we probably are, and the "truth" is somewhere in between, but that's what makes this game, and this forum, so interesting. <ok>
You wouldnt be referring to a certain Adnan Januzai would you.? I said prior to him coming here he was f*cking w*nk and so it proved.

Sunderland have agreed a deal with Bristol City to sign Antoine Semenyo, TEAMtalk can reveal. A number of club were keen on the 20-year-old forward, who almost joined Chelsea last year. The Blues had agreed a deal for the player, but were prevented from landing him because of their transfer ban. Now a Sunderland insider has confirmed to TEAMtalk that Semenyo is moving to the Stadium of Light on loan for the rest of the season.

That would suggest both Grigg & McNulty must be going surely.

Rumour has it you are getting Scowen. If so that will be 2 ex Wycombe players you have. He's tireless in midfield. Pity we couldn't have them both back

I thought he was more of a Maguire/Gooch than those two but I know very little about him to be fair.

Your possibly right but I read somewhere he has played upfron in the middle at some point in his career. I wouldnt think Gucchi would be going but Maguires contract is up in the summer is it not? Would be interesting if PP got rid of him on current form.

@Phil__Smith [HASHTAG]#SAFC[/HASHTAG] should wrap up the deal for Antoine Semenyo tomorrow. Looks like Bristol City bringing in Nakhi Wells soon is the breakthrough needed for this one to happen. Work on a LWB ongoing. Shaping up to be a busy deadline day.

I think you're right I'm just thinking that unless Parky surprises us it's going to be either Wyke or Lafferty upfront with two wingers/forwards/whatever the **** they are playing off them and I can only see him there really. As far as I know he's pretty small and nippy.

Dunno about Maguire but I'd like to keep him, he's a quality player in these league and has the talent to play at a higher level.

You can have them both back, next season, if we go up <laugh>

I thought our first transfer window in league one was great, at the time. We literally done a full squad overhaul.

Januzaj was crap, as were just about every signing by moyes in our relegation with him.
My point remains valid overall our loan signings from 2007 on till relegation were overall our most successful signings.

Look where it got us.
2 humiliating capitulations at wembley and more draws than an art class. Not to mention the turgid football churned out by lack dross
