latest rumour from that site.....

* York City manager Nigel Worthington is considering a move for Bristol Rovers right-back Michael Smith. Smith is reported to be wanting out due to relegation, and a mix of his outstanding form this season (gained a place in the league 2 team of the year) and his Northern Irish roots Worthington sees him as a worthy replacement for the departed Lanre Oyebanjo.

what a load of crap <doh>

Since when have York had money anyway he's got to be worth at least 500k

and since when has he wanted out? he wants to stay and the fact that he is marrying the daughter of 1 of the chairmen, cant see him wanting to go either.

Latest rumours...

* Adam Mekki is being tracked by Bristol Rovers after leaving Aldershot Town.

* Bristol Rovers pair Brunt and O'Toole are on Chesterfields wish list!

I'm quite surprised that anyone's interested in Brunt because he hasn't played a lot and he's injury prone.

Alex Smith could be a good shout. Lives close by so has his family, i'm assuming, settled and Rovers would mean he wouldn't have to uproot much in the same way it worked out for Mildenhall. Won't believe until I see but is more likely than some rumours.

Take from wiki....

Smith signed for League One club Swindon Town on a one-year contract on 25 June 2013, with the option of a further year. Smith revealed he turned moves from Europe to join Swindon Town. Smith made his debut in the opening game of the season, playing as a left-back position, in a 1-0 loss against Peterborough United. However, Smith sustained an knee injury during a match against Queens Park Rangers in the second round of League Cup. After an operation, Smith would be likely to be out until Christmas. However, Manager Mark Cooper believes Smith doesn't expect for Smith to return until “well into the new year”. After a six-month out, Smith finally made his return in 0-0 draw against Bristol City on 15 March 2014. Smith scored his first goal for the club in a 2-1 win over Tranmere Rovers on 25 March 2014. His goal against Tranmere Rovers was placed nine as the top ten best Swindon Town goal of 2013-14 season. After a season with Swindon Town, Smith was among ten players to be released.

Left back then maybe Browns replacement??
Injured for 6 months last season so surely a dead cert to come to us!

CJS dear fellow do I detect that you sir are a cynical soul? So far two strikers who spent large amount of time sidelined for one reason or another or not featuring in plans and farmed out on loan and now this LB who spent six months benched. What ever would we be doing signing long term injured players?

Trust in Higgs ......we've learn't our failings and investigated ourselves......move along nothing to see here

<laugh> believe it or not but im usually 1 of the most positive ones on here.

im happy with the taylor signing. im liking more and more each time i hear something about him. last seasons stats are a bit unfair on him as he played out of position and still scored 13 times in the process and he wasnt a regular either. then add his 6 in 7 games for chester as well, then 19 is a good return for him.

white though is a gamble due to his injuries and so would this alex smith as well. however history tells us these sorts of players do come to us <ok>
