being the first prem side to bite is riddled with gambles gone bad

if you've got an established winning side it doesn't matter. But if you need it to pay immediate dividends then you may as well be betting the mortgage in vegas

It's all opinions I suppose. Personally I thought he was sharper upto about 2012 when I was a big fan of his. My opinion of him changed in the last 3 years as I've found him to be a bit one-dimensional. He doesnt get involved enough in the build up play and his finishing has become erratic.

In the old days he could play anywhere including as a right wing forward which gets forgotten. I would have loved to him at United back then. IMO his best game was as a foil for others, but as I've said above he's lost his sharpness in that respect so whereas in the past he used to create for others as well as bag himself goals, I now find he just prefers to play off the shoulder and has less to his game now. That was already showing to some extent (especially his inconsistent finishing) in his last season at Real Madrid and imo he's regressed as a player since. So I'm not simply saying he's **** bcos he plays in Serie A, I'm saying yeh he was once great and would have done well in the prem, I would have loved him at United 5/6 years ago, but his game is limited now and dont let his stats alone be the basis for judgement as he is no longer good enough for the prem. In that sense he is now like a Huntelaar.

Btw he's also a massive "confidence" player which also needs to be taken into account.

I sort of agree with you on the not as sharp bit, actually. When I think back to what he was like at Real, he does seem a bit like Rooney in that regard. Still a good player with a good record but it feels like something isn't quite right physically with him and he's maybe a yard off what he used to be.

I'd still back him over anyone bar Aguero & Costa in the PL though.

Im going to have to agree with the rest. I dont think higuains going to be a hit in the premier league. Hes not that quick or skillful and his one supposedly superb attribute is his finishing which even then i think that's hit and miss. I guess he does have a bit of a physical presence but hes just a standard solid player

Any hopes Liverpool may have had of luring Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette to Anfield this summer appear over judging by comments from the Ligue 1 club's president.
Reacting to recent stories linking the Reds with the France international, Jean Michel Aulas took to Twitter to say: “Your information is false. Liverpool have never called us.
"And [remind me] what European cup [they are playing in next season] and they have neither the means [to sign the player] nor the interest.”

Imagine talking about sitting on the bench in a French club. I mean ok it's a small step up from that small club he is at but it's not a real super club is it

When you think of closing the gap with the top 4 and competing for titles, the first players you think of are Ings, Milner and Benteke (!)

Next season could go horribly wrong before it's even begun.

Happy Monday everyone lol!

Great signings if true, it's important we cement our hold of 6th place next season
