Walcott is a fantastic player, but he's got Michael Owenitis and as he's getting older is suffering from more and more injuries. Players with pace who have chocolate hamstrings don't last overly well. If Wenger is prepared to ship him out then buyer beware.

What european clubs would seriously want him though? He's only want to go to one of the big boys and none are going to be interested.

really we don't know and in a scenario where nobody knows the media has a field day recycling the same old links every week or so.

I agree that walcott is made of glass so I'd not want him for that but i can see that the reality is the two players are about equal in terms of style and ability. Both are speed men who thin they can play central who want big moeny but are told toplay wide cos they have not the vision of better players.

you do have to say walcott has a better finish than sterling but sterling probably has more ability to defend and also to stay fit it seems.

absolutely true.

when you are after a big buy you don't want clubs snapping your hand off when you make an offer.

some level of resistance is comforting to me anyway..

Walcott is average - the lad can finish, but he's mostly pace. Hasn't the intelligence or technique (or the consistency).

Wouldn't take him in any deal.
 
i'd certainly at least put him as good... he's not very good or top 4 but he is a good player... hell if he gets his fitness back he could be very good if he acthieves consistency.

Last time he had a full season not marred by injury he scored 21 goals, so call me old fashioned but I think that's way better than average.

Gerrez I suggest you go look at a normal distribution within the context of a set population

1 sigma either side of the mean contains quite a number of the population ergo the majority of players are indeed average

However while Flanagan is average Walcott is not he is a good player and if he proves his fitness he is very good but not a top player

    His team-mate Daniel Sturridge believes minutes - not money - will make up Sterling’s mind on whether to sign a new contract.
    “As long as he is playing regularly he will be happy - I don’t think it is anything to with anything other than that and I hope he will stay at the club,” Sturridge said.
    “It is important, regardless of who you are, to show what you can do - not just for Raheem but any young player. It is important to play games and gain experience so whatever decision he makes I am behind him 100%.”

On that basis, every professional player is superb since they're are a he'll of a lot more people that aren't professionals, never not being able to play at all :)

Only way I'd want Walcott is if it was buy one get one free with the other player being Sanchez!

I said population so this depends on what population.

Obviously the entire planet puts all pro footballers in the very last 0.01%

But if the population is every pro footballer or even every prem footballer then the story is different

There are very few top players and lots of average ones
 
Hear Henderson, Sterling and Coutinho are leaving. Rodgers going to City. Gerrard and Balotelli want to sign new contracts.

Any truth? Fingers crossed!
