Some rags have us in for Henderson after he rejected a new Liverpool contract. Sterling, if he goes, will go to United or Madrid, as they are the only clubs who pay ridiculous prices for unproven children. (Where as Chelsea only pay ridiculous prices for over the hill, has-beens *cough* Shevchenko and Torres *cough*)

Brendan Rodgers has been on the hunt for a keeper to provide competition for Mignolet for some time. Reports in Portugal today suggest that Patricio may be open to a move. Patricio was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal earlier in his career, but despite turning 27 recently has never moved on from Sporting Lisbon. The Portuguese international is thought to be keen on a move abroad and may be willing to accept a battle with Mignolet if Liverpool come calling, according to A Bola. The language of the papers is so wrong...Any setback is a 'rejection'. Still wouldn't be surprised to see Sterling re-sign. At any rate it'll take £50m plus for us to sell.
I agree. Would not be shokced any way it goes. We could already have a broken relationship between player and manager we could have two gyus who feel bad about agent and stelring might sign up and ack him. we could be seeing sterling having already agreed next move and this is all pretext. we don't know. We do know stelring has affected LFC on match day and that is unprofessional so I would drop him meself
I would love to see a heat map for mingolet on average in a game. 30% of the time a keeper these days should be at least up past his pen spot when his team is in possession. I think his is a big red dot on his six yard line and no more.
http://resources.fifa.com/mm/docume...2/37/50/92/15_0617_bel-alg_playersheatmap.pdf and http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/3841...-why-goalkeepers-have-been-so-good-and-could- this is interesting look at couroits, lloris and neuer they all spend mos tof their time up on the pen spot.. not their line. can't find one for minge
So it begins. As if Pedro would want bloody EL footie http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-Sterling-leaves-Anfield-summer.html#comments
I'd say the keeper should be outside his area or at least the edge of his area when in possession and attacking. Just don't be that far forward when the opposition have the ball near the halfway line or beyond.
18 yard line is good. If adam had not hit perfection in terms of flight and power (and got lucky) AND courtois had not been standing on the edge of his d not the 18 yard line then it was no goal. It keeps the whole chelsea team much highe rup so they can support each other.
Liverpool Transfer News: Sam Byram Nears £8M Move, Geoffrey Kondogbia Rumours By Nick Akerman, Featured Columnist Apr 7, 2015 please log in to view this image Tony Marshall/Getty Images Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is reportedly "closing in" on signing Leeds United full-back Sam Byram, according to Jeremy Cross of the Daily Star. Although the Championship club is said to value the 21-year-old at £10 million, Cross indicates a compromise of £8 million is a possibility. The aforementioned report details how Rodgers "has sent scouts to watch him in action more than six times." The Northern Irish manager also reportedly watched the exciting player himself in March, with Liverpool now moving into "pole position" to land his signature, per Cross. Byram possesses natural attacking instincts on the right and could slot into Rodgers' 3-4-2-1 formation without any hassle. Although largely playing as a right-back this campaign, the Englishman has been deployed further upfield when needed. Three goals and one assist—not to mention seven yellows and one red card, per WhoScored.com—underline Byram's all-action, full-blooded style. please log in to view this image Rob Munro/Getty Images Speaking about his future at the end of March, Byram admitted he knows the hard work must continue, per Tim Thornton of Sky Sports, saying, "I have just have to keep my feet on the ground and not get carried away." Rodgers is said to also be "watching" Monaco midfield destroyer Geoffrey Kondogbia, reported by Simon Jones of the MailOnline. Jones believes the Frenchman has "impressed" Liverpool scouts after an excellent turn of form. There's no doubt the Reds need additional quality in central midfield. Saturday's 4-1 defeat to Arsenal provided a snapshot of what life may be like when Steven Gerrard heads to Los Angeles Galaxy at the end of the season. Neither Joe Allen nor Lucas Leiva possess the physicality to impose themselves on top-quality opposition. They aren't creative, dominant in the air or the kind of players who burst from deep to score goals. please log in to view this image Clive Mason/Getty Images Kondogbia could provide the defensive shield for Jordan Henderson to freely fill this role. We saw during Monaco's Champions League round-of-16 first-leg victory over Arsenal how the former can dictate possession with his assurance on the ball and ability to break up play. He isn't much of a goalscorer but is the type of player who allows more incisive stars to go about their business. At 22, Kondogbia is just starting to hit his stride. His qualities are highlighted below:
any leeds player is fair game given what that club is up to. who knows.. could be media spin. peopel seem to rate the lad there. I dunno myself As for the other guy... he fits the profile is all i can say... cost is ???
Wouldn't mind both of them. £8m for Leeds RB is steep but the going rate for young english players. Apparently he's very highly rated and a regular in Leeds team last couple of years.
Thought Kondogbia was pretty average tbh...does simple passes whenever I've seen him play (just like our average midfielders) which go nowhere, and occasionally breaks up play (like ours). Not much of an improvement. Leeds kid...right, another kid. That'll help us Please, we need better
Sam Byram is pretty talented, wouldn't mind him replacing Johnson. Kondogbia is brilliant IMO - still raw but immense potential. Stagnated a little at Monaco but he's a brilliant DM. Exactly what we need.
EXCLUSIVE: Man City weighing up raid for THIRD Liverpool star with Philippe Coutinho eyed MANCHESTER CITY have made Philippe Coutinho their THIRD transfer target from Premier League rivals Liverpool. By Jeremy Cross, Chief Sports Writer / Published 9th April 2015 The billionaires are poised to go on another multi-million pound spending spree this summer following a woeful season. The champions are expected to overhaul their squad in the wake of a campaign that will see them win no silverware. Chairman Khaldoon Al-Mubarak is drawing up a shopping list of names that already includes England stars Raheem Sterling and Jordan Henderson. Now it has emerged the big-spenders are also considering a swoop for Brazil ace Coutinho as well. It is understood club bosses believe Coutinho can be lured to the Etihad in a £20m deal if the Reds fail to secure a top four finish this season and place in the Champions League. please log in to view this image TARGET TRIO: City are looking at Coutinho, Sterling and Henderson [GETTY] The news will stun Reds boss Brendan Rodgers, who could now find his club under siege from one of his biggest rivals during the close season. Rodgers is desperate to keep his biggest stars at Anfield, but he knows he cannot compete with the billions of City owner Sheikh Mansour. It is unlikely City will attempt to buy all three, but the loss of one, or even two players to City would be a huge blow to Rodgers, who will also have to cope without talismanic skipper Steven Gerrard following his decision to join LA Galaxy. Coutinho, 22, joined the Merseysiders from Inter Milan for £8m in 2013 after snubbing interest from Southampton. He has gone on to establish himself as an integral member of Rodgers’ side and was rewarded with an improved deal in February that tied him to Anfield until 2020. This won’t stop City from trying to poach him, however, although Reds bosses will hold out for closer to £35m for someone who is under contract for another four seasons after this one. Coutinho was left out of the Brazil squad for last summer’s World Cup but has re-established himself under new coach Dunga and has been tipped for a long international career. Sterling, meanwhile, has become a major target of City’s as the rising Three Lions star considers his options after refusing to sign a new £100,000-a-week deal at Anfield. Etihad bosses are also keen to land a proven central midfielder as speculation mounts that Yaya Toure could leave, with Henderson emerging as a possible target along with France and Juventus ace Paul Pogba.
