I'm not sure I agree on the CM. Or not a big signing any way. It depends on the system. I suppose an alternative to Henderson is needed.
DM we do need.
Currently our options are Henderson, Can, Lucas, Allen, Coutinho.
I think addinng a good alternative to Henderson and a top DM is all we need.
Milner for free and spend big on a DM.
Khedira would be nice but he would be very expensive (in terms of wages) and he is injury prone.

Still feel Juventus are his number 1 choice.
We desperately need a midfielder and defender. Sort that area of the pitch first and scoring 2 goals against Leicester wins us the match.
Toure, Skrtel, Lucas and Gerrard are playing too much football.
I disagree, apart from on Gerrard.
Our defense is only just starting to look settled so changing it again would be risky IMO. We need consistency.

Look at it this way, in the summer we will be most likely looking for a player in the AM (winger etc) position, someone with quality. However Shaqiri is available now and for a knock down price.
Yes the defence, GK and midfield are more important priorities but we should be taking advantage of this opportunity now.
He will also score goals, far more than any other player we have, except Sturridge, and that is something else we need to sort out.

I agree with you - we'd be stupid to pass up on this deal. Amazing value.

Just using Shaqiri as an example - he's an international, played at WC, played for Bayern, big game experience. Coming to Liverpool won't faze him one bit.
Berahino has had a good few months at a midtable club. We need to stop signing flash in the pan players from small clubs - moving to LFC is a big jump where the pressure is on you 24/7.
The defence needs improving because Lovren is w*nk, Skrtel is selfish and Toure is getting old. We need a quality leader to play in the middle of a back 3.
Lucas is doing ok but not great. He looks a lot better because he is playing in a position which Gerrard ruined. Any DM is better than no DM and Lucas is proving that. We need to upgrade on Lucas because hes simply not good enough if we want to challenge for bigger and better things. Combined with fitness issues and wages, he's an expensive bench option.
Good point on losing both Gerrard, Carra and Suarez in the space of 2 years.
