Roberto Martinez? I doubt it, thought Roma were ding well, why would they sack the manager?

And not sure on Lavezzi. He offers more workrate but goal scoring record is poor and he's pushing on a bit now (29 I think?)
 
Bayern want €15m for Shaqiri. Juve and Inter want initial loan deals and LFC want to purchase.

Hope we go for him - quality player with immense potential.

He often gets stuck out of position on right wing though.

I dont think we need him to score loads as long as he scores a steady amount.

We need the attacking guys, Sturridge, Sterling, Lallana, Coutinho, Markovic, Lambert, and if he signs, Lavezzi, to score loads between them.

I actually think my list of names above looks pretty good, and would be great with Shaqiri included.
 
We need a DM first and foremost. As we saw today, our defenders defended well but we will still concede when you have clowns protecting them.

Most of what I'm hearing is that Lucas is close to leaving this January - Napoli and Milan want him on loan, we'd prefer to sell.

If he stays, I wouldn't get a DM. I think Lucas and Henderson works great in the middle and can see us out til the summer.
If he goes, then it's vital we sign a DM.

Shaqiri isn't what we need right now, but we should definitely be chasing him for that value. We'd have a lot of competition though with Coutinho, Sterling, Markovic, Lallana and, from the sounds of it, Ibe next season. Only three can play at the most, assuming Sturridge is up top.

We have to get a striker this January, more than any other position. We can be stronger at the back by simply playing our inform players in the midfield (Lucas/Henderson) and keeping Sakho, Skrtel/Toure and Can at the back. A goalkeeper would help too - Cech obviously ideal.

Some interesting names in here though.

If we were still in the CL and playing the way we were last year, Khedeira could be an option but he can do so much better than us and earna bigger wage.

I'd take Milner, would be a solid option in CM.
 
Why the hell would Milner come? Keep seeing his name mentioned but he's playing an important part at City

If they don't offer him a new contract he wont have much choice. Unless he's willing to play for free there.
 
Milner, Khedeira, Pato and De Jong could all do a job for us.

Heard that Aquillani fella is good too <whistle>
 
So we're going to need a new CM at the end of the season, so combined with the fact we already need a DM we might as well look for one or the other this Jan.

In fact Khedira and Milner would be two players to fill these positions we need, but I don't see either happening

That' the point.. we can only negotiate at the end of the season at which point he'll either have a new contract or not.
 
I'd love us t go for Pjanic from Roma for £20m and maybe someone like Sissoko from Newcastle for £10m. Big strong powerful CM.

Midfield options of Henderson, Allen, Pjanic, Sissoko & Can with Coutinho/Lallana/Sterling/Markovic ahead of them in the attacking roles.
