Of course location matters. If you were coming from abroad would you want to go to a club based in London or the south where it's generally a nicer area to live than say Sheffield or Birmingham for example.
Not just saying it because I'm from the south but footballers come over with kids and families and they would like to live somewhere nice. At the end of the day, don't they do this footvall stuff as a job to earn money.. Money so they can afford to live in a nice house in a nice area?
I know you can get nice places in areas I mentioned but coming from abroad I'd think it would have a big effect on some players.
meh... sorry but who the f lives in brum land or salford or toxteth...
nobody.
a really dedicated footballer needs a reasonable drive to training, then home then rest. thats my point. peoepl looking for "nice" "luxury" "party" or whatever.... sorry but thats not why they are looking to be a top 4 player.
you need to dedicated ones not the wide boys.
so mdrid has a lot of f'n s**tholes in it. and a lot of fabulous areas. barcelona too... soooooo... what. a footballer can swan in and do enough, have party, live well and just get by.... or they can dedicate themselves to their career which is going to be short.
I'd personal rate a man that looked for the best school for his kids in this equation than where's the best lapdancing club.
Well that's obviously not what Sanchez' thought process was and he is doing a fine job for Arsenal.
Wasn't there an article last week saying that Liverpool didn't get Shaqiri because we had a £20mill offer turned down?
This week the Express is saying that Man Utd are going to sign him- having made and £18mill offer. Something not right here. Will be horrible if they get him. LVG wouldn't know what to do with him!
(can he play Left-back?)
It was said to have been blocked rather than rejected. Don't really know what the difference is, guess it means the club were ready to sell (management etc) and someone (Chairman?) didn't want to sell so blocked the move.Wasn't there an article last week saying that Liverpool didn't get Shaqiri because we had a £20mill offer turned down?

Think in terms of a Jan move, could be that they stopped a transfer in the summer thinking they'd need him, turns out they don't and now cause he wants football a move could be back on.
Man U would be crazy to spend more money on another winger. A Centre Back (or 2) is what they need also a Right Back that wont get sent off and a DM that isn't Carrick.
Also on bayern.... You'll find if Shaqiri is moving it is cos reus has a pre contract all sewn up so that blows Chelsea out of water
A pre contract to replace Shaqiri on the bench? that would be a bit of a bad move for Reus!
Would be tempting depending on wages and whether Chelsea would sell to us.![]()

Can't see why not. We're hardly rivals anymore![]()

Best sign him in January then![]()
But we have no money in January
How good do we think Cech would look behind our defence though?
