Nice move for him that. Hopefully we don’t feel a huge impact but I guess it’s a positive as says to others if you do well at lfc as assistant manager you might get opportunities further along the line
Agree. I think the fact that he's only been involved for one season means the impact won't be as big as if he'd had several seasons input.

Didn't work out but it was an opportunity he wouldn't have got otherwise I think was the point.

I was surprised they went for him and honestly I was a bit surprised klopp gave him so much control.

After the book thing I just think it's surprising the players here got on with him and everything worked well enough.

Clearly it absolutely fell apart in a hot second at salzburg

I liked Ljinders but he started getting ideas above his station that sort of coincided with the book release. I think, in the end, maybe his enthusiasm was greater than his ability.

Seems about £20m apart in valuations so imagine well up it a tiny bit and meet somewhere and do some more tiny add ons to stagger payments etc.

I think the salzburg players took one look at him.and didn't take him seriously.

I think at lfc he was just a coach and klopp was always there as the boss.

He wasn't strong enough to enforce whatever needed nad their results were poor.

The same happened before and lfc took him.back in

A coach but not a manager

Hmmm... I don't watch enough foreign football to know if he's worth it, but it seems to be getting a lot of people excited.
It's a lot of money and a big gamble, but then I didn't want us to go so big on Virgil, so what do I know?

Guess have to try put it into some sort of context.

Arsenal paid £100m for a DM in Rice
Chekses paid £120m for a DM in Caicedo
City paid £100m for attacking midfielder in Grealish

Wirtz so far (and hope continues) is putting up goal and assist numbers that match prime KDB. Now diff league etc, but generally you pay big money for those players so we are potentially getting that (and only 22 years old) for same price as rivals have paid for players that offer far less

well in 2 of the 3 we are paying in the same range for a different skill set and higher European profile .

It's done, really excited about what this kid can bring to the team.
