So we put in a bid that breaks the British transfer record, it's accepted, medical booked and the agent gets a call from Chelsea offering him a huge payment to get his client to stall and we're a joke club. The offer's still on the table forcing Chelsea to match or better it because withdrawing it means Chelsea get the deal done for their offer of £85m. I'd say we've done everything right so far.

I'm not bothered whether we get him or not. We will move on and get whoever Klopp wants and that's okay with me.

Then Throw in some wild bid for caicedo which i said was fsg bullshit when it first came out. Like tchouameni & Bellingham.

And here we are, season starts tomorrow and our rebuild is 2 players in.

If that's the case, that sort of stuff should be illegal.

An agent is there to represent his client, not line his own pockets.

In fact, new rules should be introduced that agents are not allowed to talk to clubs unless there is a bid. Not a fan of agreements and contracts being discussed whilst a player belongs to someone else and there isn't an accepted bid by the owning club.

Agents are a blight on the game.

Whatever you're thinking, saying "joke of a club" just comes across as a childish rant. It's disappointing, and it hasn't worked out the way we wanted so far, but there's nothing ridiculous about the way we went about it.
We made an offer for a player, the other club accepted that offer but the player changed his mind and decided he didn't want the move.
Life's like that, we just have to get over it.

My only worry in all this mess is, Chelsea buying Lavia in the next few days, delay making a bid for Caicedo until the last week/day and we miss out on both like moron's while Caicedo stalls for Chelsea, and have no time to sign anyone else

Although I'm not sure how Chelsea would be allowed to spend another £165m, without shifting Lukaku, Hudson-Odoi and Zeyich for more money than they're worth

I don't think we'll hang about. We'll have other targets and we're probably already looking at them just in case

No, but that is how it seems atm with the limited reliable information we have.
I was just pointing out that the club hasn't really done anything unconscionable, it just hasn't worked out so far. It does look like agents playing silly buggers again, but who knows?

I'd just like to add that I don't want to get into a protracted argument with you over this.
We both want the best for the club, but we have different ideas as to how we get it.
Sometimes we're going to disagree.

I think LFC wanted Tchouameni as the number 1 target. Once mbappe was confirmed to stay at PSG, we moved onto caicedo, and spotted a slight opportunity to take advantage of the deal.

Exactly, and even if it dont work out, was worth a try.
We have been dicking around and stalling and Liverpool saw a chance to try jump in.

I think he's more pissed off with the Lavia stuff than Caicedo. He's one of many that think we should have "just paid the extra £5m" without thinking about what could have happened with negotiations beforehand, that we might have already offered a lot more than we value him at and we usually do deals on the quiet so what else could be happening.

It's not Liverpool releasing snippets to the media so ask yourself where it's coming from, and why? what's the agenda?
