Yeah, I can't see any point in filibustering to try and prevent Chelsea getting their man - provided he has made his decision plain, and it's not just the agent arsing about again.

only need to do it to delay them a day.

in theory until he signs a contract he's no business at Stamford Bridge as a Brighton player and any loyalty bonuses would be null and void.

Speaking to mate who is a sensible chelsea fan (I know I know) and even he is embarrassed by chelsea since boehly came in.

Been saying how they’re buying all these young players for 15-30m and half of them then go out on loan for a year or two abs then end up getting sold. Not sure as a young player why you’d go there tbh.

Couldn't think of one player they signed, loaned out numerous times and has broken through to the first team to become a regular. Surely the players and agents can see as a young player it’s just stalls your career?

I’m sure caicedo will obviously play. Will Lavia play? Possibly but he won’t be a regular and if he doesn’t perform in first season chelsea won’t hesitate to replace him.

Signed Lesley Ugochukwu for £25m this summer. Immediately loaned out despite being a CM which they need!!
Angelo £15m. Talk of loaned out.
Gusto - RB signed for 30m last Jan stayed at Lyon but won’t be in ahead of James so likely a loan or bit part.
Andrey Santos - £10m and CM talk of being loaned out.
David Fofarna - Cf signed last Jan. played couple games. Loaned out once Nkunku and Jackson come in.

Edit - plus Tyler adams. 20m fee agreed. Medical booked and chelsea pull out the deal leaving in limbo as need the cash for caicedo instead.

That would be the one we didnt spend weeks counting penny's over and got the deal done well before pre season.

I heard yeh, utd too

How do you know we didn't spend weeks on the deal?

We got him at a far cheaper price than everyone expected and instead of the far more expensive Bellingham? [HASHTAG]#budgetting[/HASHTAG]

it's obviously a **** you to us again setting us a higher price to get him in return for having to got to 115 for the rat midget.

as I said if lavia is stupid enough not to see he is nothing to them then that'll do for me.

lfc have now absolute screwed themselves over as there's literally very few options left

Of we weren’t paying 50m cos was already over our valuation we aren’t gonna pay 55m.

Chelsea can have him. If they then pull out the deal at last minute then it just shows their true colours and you’d hope that clubs /players /agents will see it and have doubts about dealing with them in future.

Me too. And as I've said before. Don't want Lavia. Not if he's our only CDM (if we had two I'd take him though). So, I'm not really annoyed about missing out on Lavia... and until recently Moises wasn't even an option... So not too peeved about that either.

Situation no different to how the week began for me.

other than you know we had the money all along and didn't bother go get someone and are staring into the first 3 games of season and staring down the barrell of two very tough away games where we could get reamed.

as I said at the time 3 signings needed before preseason started. we got 2.

we have now left the position, we knew was being totally vacated by the mercenaries since about the 10th July, completely and utterly vacant at the start of the season.

lfc can no longer play poor mouth. they have simply not got the job done.

Then there is no contract

Usually a contract has a clause like "must be accepted within x days". If that time has elapsed, sure we can back out. If it hasn't, theres often a breaking contract fee... Or I'm extreme cases Brighton could sue us to force us to honour contract.

Well in that case the deal has fallen through hasn't it?
The agreement has to be dependent on the player himself agreeing to it. He's a contracted employee, not a chattel.

I don't know terms of contract and exactly what he's done. Is it an official signed refusal, or he's holding onto the paper waiting for Chelsea to finalize?

Seriously, never heard anyone ever discuss "the contract" after a club bids for a player before. You're just creating issues <laugh>

you’d think so but unfortunately, they’ll still spend stupid money on players and selling
Clubs will happily accept it.

then you have the PL who will let them get away with it because buying the best players and bringing them to the league is only good for the brand.

its a corrupt system

Yes but we don't know who we have and haven't bid on, or what's been going on behind the scenes to slow things down.

It is frustrating I agree. We could have bids for other players that we were waiting on getting completed.

I don't and neither do you either way so this is a pointless exercise.

Chelsea are laughing at us right now.

Embarrassing

Or plans have just feel through our not yet materialised. You don't know what's gone off behind closed doors.

What’s this talk of a contract? There is no contract signed. The player hasn’t signed anything

Not at all, if you break a legal business contract there's consequences. ( If we AND Brighton have signed to transfer the player, as reported it's a legal contract). Same if you bid on a house and pull out, the seller could be a pain and try to milk money out of you.

Normally there is a finite time period on an offer though, and I suspect there was on the player too. Like, the offer is only good for two days and if isn't completed by then either party can back out .

In truth, I don't know what's going on there and what has or hasn't been signed. Just saying if both clubs have signed and it's just pending Caicedo, we could be stuck for a few days. (Although also likely any time has elapsed by now).
