Or plans have just feel through our not yet materialised. You don't know what's gone off behind closed doors.

I know what has not yet happened though.

nobody can deny that we are going into match day 1 with out a key position filled and will be robbing another position and potentially 2 to cover.

so no we have not got the job done. not by half given we know know exactly how much money that can bring to bear if desired.

:)

Yeh laughing at them getting 2 new players, one of which we seriously pursued for weeks.

Absolute mugs they are.

Real actual fans are embarrassed by it.

Don’t listen to people on here using it as banter, or people on Twitter.

Real normal people who support chelsea think their club is a bit of a farce atm when it comes to transfers and don’t like Boehly and how he’s doing things.

Not at all, if you break a legal business contract there's consequences. ( If we AND Brighton have signed to transfer the player, as reported it's a legal contract). Same if you bid on a house and pull out, the seller could be a pain and try to milk money out of you.

Normally there is a finite time period on an offer though, and I suspect there was on the player too. Like, the offer is only good for two days and if isn't completed by then either party can back out .

In truth, I don't know what's going on there and what has or hasn't been signed. Just saying if both clubs have signed and it's just pending Caicedo, we could be stuck for a few days. (Although also likely any time has elapsed by now).

I highly doubt there is any actual contract signed by us and Brighton. Given you normally hear of paperwork being submitted to FA as the last step once all terms are agreed with player etc so anything agreed it probably an informal agreement that either could back out of at any point

But in reality, it doesn't happen

Why are we even still in the game if he doesn't even want to play for us. Just pull out and move on

Dont need to pull out. What difference does it make?

Pullibg out gives Chelsea all the power. While the bids there, they need to at least match it and if they don’t - 48 hours later they still haven’t actually made a bid - then he isn’t going there.

Do you know what the Brighton take on this is?
We were told they wanted it sorted by Thursday night, De Zerbi has already said Moises who? yet it's still rumbling on.
It seems like a few bridges have been burned there.

I'm sure they are pissed but insisting on at least the same cash

General feeling from fans is they just want it done now. Accepted he’s going and would rather he go to lfc than chelsea but doesn’t look likely so as long as chelsea match bid (reports of 115m bid going in with 15% sell on) will Be accepted.

Think from de zerbi pov he’s already gone and hasn’t been training so just cracking on without him. Was talk of them going for Adams now chelsea dropped out as a replacement.

Amazed he hasn't signed to play for us ASAP. Clearly doesn't want to play for us, so it seems really odd we are still interested

this is exactly how I see it. I cannot fault the club for not paying way over the odds. While I think that our record bid for Moises is retaliatory for Chelsea derailing our Lavia discussions, we still made that bid.

am I unhappy that we have not signed more, yes, of course….but the window has some way to go yet so I will reserve my judgement until it is.

Not sour grapes, but Caicedo for £111m is @ £45m over the odds - I appreciate it was retaliation, and he is fine player, but while we had to shell out £15m over the odds for Virgil because he was worth it to us, 2/5ths over the odds is ridiculous.

The tragedy is Lavia - he's not worth £55m, but he is worth over £40m. I'd still stump up £50m for him, because we need him more than Caicedo, but if we don't get him (and it looks exceedingly distant now), there's talk of Amrabat for £28m if we can out bid United, but I wouldn't go over £30m, but a DM, another mid and a CB for the £150m we would have spent on Caeicedo and Lavia would be a better outcome than what were getting on Friday morning, IMO. And, though it would mean a few quiet windows and possibly selling Mo and Virgil to the Arabs over the next couple of summers, unlike Chelsea, we can afford it in the long-run.

I bet he'd release something purple instead.

Personally I think we should have joint custody. We have him Saturday through Monday. Chelsea have him Tuesday through Thursday. On Fridays he can visit his grandparents.

As someone who brought my daughter up in these circumstances, even with 50/50 residence, it's the PWC (Parent with care) who holds all the cards and gets all the the state benefits (dunno if it's the same in the states). As that would probably be Chelsea anyway I'd prefer to walk away and say 'nah, I'll take him to McDonald's one Sunday every month and not pay any maintenance, thanks a lot.

Well .. us staying in the deal means Chelsea have had to stump up another £30m to get their man. None of us ever expected to be anywhere near Caicedo, so if you want to find a small positive in the situation, that's it.
