After all this, regardless of where he goes, watch him transfer and be mediocre as ****, what ya reckon? <laugh>

Was speaking to Archers on another board and he is 100% certain he's the real deal. Then again, a lot of Soton fans (not archers, tbf) told us Lovren was world class. They did tell us Mane was too, to balance that out though. :emoticon-0138-think

And Clyne was a ****ing class RB till he pissed and coked his career away. :emoticon-0108-speec

We were never getting Bellingham. I still to this day think we'd have never gone over £50m for Virgil or gone out and bought Ally had it not been for the Coutinho money, despite it being absolutely proven to be the best business we ever did under FSGs tenure.
don't think anyone thinks we would have done i certainly don't .

might not get much choice as we only have 4 available (PL experienced) midfielders so if one picks up a knock before Sunday :emoticon-0107-sweat
this is the worry about lack of cover .
MaccA, Szobolobbleski, Jones, Elliott - Gakpo can drop back and Trent can go in there and leave a massive ****ing vacuum down the RH side (why not?).
I'm assuming Thiago and Bajcetic are still in recovery. Any other infants we can call up?

Weird that both of our teams had a fire sale of all our midfielders this summer.

****ing mental american owners!!
Tbf, Ox and Keita were pointless decoration and Milner's a geriatric (though I'd have kept him personally).
None of us expected Hendo and Fab to get wanderlust.

thaigo and Bajcetic are back in full match training. I can only assume we won't play them but will organise a behind closed door game midweek for them to kick about in.

McConnell and Scanlon are the infants

it'll be fine. We might stick thaigo on the bench for all i know.

as i said 4 midfielders to call on the make do's .
Bajcetic isn't in full training yet and i don't expect to see him in the team for quite a while and if we do it will be a risk from what we can make out

Would be comical if both bids were accepted.

Not going to happen, BUT - we have the wiggle room and finances to do it if it meant a few quiet windows in the future. We'd also an average squad age profile in the low 20s. But no, FSG just doesn't roll that way. :emoticon-0145-shake

I thought he was?

He's been pictured out there this week, as is Thiago.

yeah that is the bit i don't get as the club could easily open a credit line of say £100m to fund transfers to help build the next squad but seem constrained from doing so .

they did this in covid and got massively cheap finance just in case and then handed it all straight back.

so we know they can do it if they felt the need to (if covid went 5 years for.example) but they absolutely didn't want it and repaid it off

Now the cost of finance is 3 or 4 times what it was
