This transfer news is really trying it's best to take the shine off the anticipation of watching our two new incredible signings in action in the games coming up. Team heading off to Germany tomorrow must be feeling a bit confused instead of raring to go.

the latter, I agree with you on; He’d be a hypocrite. The captain thing; that’s his right and frankly, considering how much vitriol is said about him, I wouldn’t blame him.
For me, he drove the midfield through our trophy winning seasons but was completely overplayed and hasn’t been the same for the last year and a half. It’s time for him to go; I don’t care where but he should be remembered for what he has achieved with the club, not because of how and where he chooses to end his career.
Like Rodgers trying to swap him for Dempsey and Hendo refusing to go, instead insisting he wanted to stay and fight for a place in the team?

The club linked with Fabinho has no such restrictions with rumours they've offered £40m. All the Saudi clubs seem to be tied to their government in some way but they don't all have limitless transfer funds ... allegedly.
