Lille manager Christophe Galtier has handed Liverpool a huge transfer boost with the news that Victor Osimhen is set to be sold by the club.
The Nigeria international looks a huge prospect after impressing in Ligue 1 in recent times and it’s little surprise that he will now surely be moving on to a bigger team.

Liverpool transfer
Atletico Madrid forward Thomas Lemar has admitted he has ‘regrets’ over a failed move to Liverpool in 2017.

The France international was thought to be close to a move to Anfield, with Philippe Coutinho then expressing his desire to leave the club to sign for Barcelona.

Then at Monaco, Lemar had seen the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Benjamin Mendy and Bernardo Silva all depart the French club for new ventures in the summer of 2017.

As it turned out, the Reds decided not to go through with a deal after Monaco upped their asking price to £90m.

Coutinho remained at Anfield for a few more months before departing for Barca, at which time Liverpool opted to end interest in signing Lemar and pursued other targets.

Speaking openly about the situation, Lemar admits to feeling some regrets about the way events unfolded, but not remhttps://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-transfer-news-rumours-live-18456587ains keen to not think about them too much.

There's a clear pattern that if you try and up the price or squeeze more money out of the deal, Liverpool will pull out. Value for money seems to be the philosophy not just for transfers but for youngsters looking to get too much too soon like young Bobby Duncan. Klopp wants players who want to play for Liverpool and for him, if there's the slightest doubt, he's not interested.

Couts is really at the bottom of the barrel now...........:bandit:

Coutinho is still a fine player. I say again, IF Barca would loan him back to us (and pay a third of his wages.... doubt it), then it's a no-brainer for me. He can still do things no other player in that side can do. We never replaced him. Fekir was supposed to, but we just never got around to it. yes, it was more important to buy Allison, and he's transformed the club even more than Virgil, imo, and now we're too skint to make a marquee transfer this summer. Fair enough. This would be next best, imo, and hoovering up a few signing from our lower leagues like Robbo.

Coutinho is a YouTube compilation player. He’s a potential match winner and capable of moments of brilliance, but his overall contribution to many games was often limited.

Indeed Tobes, and I think pre-Covid Barca, along with PSG, Real and City, are the only fools who'd pay £150m + for such a player. I'm not suggesting we buy him back. A loan would be worth it though.

Oh, and United, of course.

In fairness, he often turned it on in big games.
