I love a good cabbies tale, but I’m not having that one. As if he had tested positive and the PFA had got involved then he’d have been offered rehab and counselling. If he refused then Liverpool would have just terminated his contract. I don’t see what any of the 3 parties get out of him staying on the books without pay, as when his contract runs out, if he doesn’t come clean to a prospective new club about his previous supposed issues, and the club offered him a deal, then the PFA, the player and Liverpool would all be complicit in covering up his issue with drugs.
