Anybody holding out any hope for big money moves after Klopp said that he could not justify it will be disappointed. I expect a couple of kids/freebies at best.
I imagine that post covid, players and clubs will have to get creative in terms of payment plans and structured transfer fees in order to move players around. Some clubs will be more flexible than others. There's nothing to say that even after what Klopp said, there will be an opportunity to sign a more expensive player on an attractive and acceptable payment plan.

Clyne's contract expires on 30 June, we're not even prepared to give him a short extension until the end of this season. Definitely did something to piss the club off

I told you this last September. The taxi driver taking us to the airport for our hols had Clyne and his mate (and two slags) in his minbus cab the weekend before. Picked them up from a nightclub in Manchester, and taking them back to his home in Southport (taxi arranged by his agent). Addled on blow and coke (and wasn't trying to hide it).

Said he was on suspension from the club on NO pay, but a deal had been struck with the PFA to keep him on the books until his contract ran out. Breaking his terms of suspension being even at a nightclub (never mind the drugs). Liverpool don't even test him any more, and he's banned from the training ground.

Infuriated Klopp and Werner by ****ing up a loan deal to Bournemouth. Nobody in the prem will now touch him. Knee thing was just bollocks. Expect some sob story about having to retire due to injury so that he can pick up insurance. Absolute ****ing tragedy - at his best he was a natural right back, and a better defender than Trent. Pissed his career away. ****.

yeah while with Bournemouth the jaunt with a bunch of "young ladies" he met in a club & then took off on holiday will surely put off all but the most desperate of clubs .

I just can't understand why he'd throw everything away. Got all the time in the world to do all that when he's retired in his mid-thirties. He was a ****ing international, for heaven's sake. Beggars belief.

Even those few games he played for us before the loan to Bournemouth showed that he was still a decent FB but then it's really down to wot Garlic said :emoticon-0148-yes:

Don't know if this has been up but Lallana has extended his deal with LFC to run until the end of this season.

He was going to leave on a free transfer on June 30th

I love a good cabbies tale, but I’m not having that one. As if he had tested positive and the PFA had got involved then he’d have been offered rehab and counselling. If he refused then Liverpool would have just terminated his contract. I don’t see what any of the 3 parties get out of him staying on the books without pay, as when his contract runs out, if he doesn’t come clean to a prospective new club about his previous supposed issues, and the club offered him a deal, then the PFA, the player and Liverpool would all be complicit in covering up his issue with drugs.

You are missing the point if a Cabbie has said it, then it must be true.

"I had that Hitler bloke in the back of me cab once, he asked to go to Poland. I said get lost, pal. So he had to make his own way there."

Okay, we'll see. The cabbie showed us booking receipt, btw. But he could have made up the bit about pay, except for the fact, as I pointed out, that the PFA were involved and maybe it was they who were paying his wages? He was supposed to be in rehab too, as I thought I made clear, but he was the one sneering about it. I didn't want to believe it all, in truth, because up until 18 months ago I still thought Clyne was one of the best right backs in the Prem, but are you buying the story that he's training away from the first team squad in Kirkby because they're worried about Covid contamination? No, neither am I.

I think its more likely he did a bit of a Sakho and Klopp had enough of him
