Liverpool transfer
Atletico Madrid forward Thomas Lemar has admitted he has ‘regrets’ over a failed move to
Liverpool in 2017.
The France international was thought to be close to a move to Anfield, with Philippe Coutinho then expressing his desire to leave the club to sign for Barcelona.
Then at Monaco, Lemar had seen the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Benjamin Mendy and Bernardo Silva all depart the French club for new ventures in the summer of 2017.
As it turned out, the Reds decided not to go through with a deal after Monaco upped their asking price to £90m.
Coutinho remained at Anfield for a few more months before departing for Barca, at which time Liverpool opted to end interest in signing Lemar and pursued other targets.
Speaking openly about the situation, Lemar admits to feeling some regrets about the way events unfolded, but not remhttps://
