I think Alisson is the number one target so I would assume Klopp does want him to replace Karius. But if we don’t get him, then I think Klopp will persist with Karius.

There have been quite a few rumours about Lascelles this summer, who I do rate. We need a CB because essentially, we are reliant on VVD and if he’s out, it will all go to pot.

Seen him mentioned but I wouldn't say any more than others (that we haven't bought).

I just don't see us doubling the gk transfer record.

So Lanzini's agent will go back into hibernation and stop touting him to us since Lanzini is injured again

Emre Can and Jon Flanagan set to leave LFC

Liverpool FC can confirm that Emre Can and Jon Flanagan will both leave the club upon the expiry of their contracts this summer.

The club today released its Premier League retained list following the conclusion of the 2017-18 campaign, confirming the departure of a number of players in the process.

Can, who joined the Reds from Bayer Leverkusen in 2014, made his 167th and final appearance for Liverpool in last month’s Champions League final defeat by Real Madrid.

Academy graduate Flanagan, meanwhile, departs having featured in 51 senior games following his 2011 debut against Manchester City.

The defender was a mainstay of the team that challenged for the Premier League title in 2013-14, making 23 appearances as the Reds ultimately finished second, and became a senior England international.

His last game for the club was a League Cup tie at Leicester City in September.

Youth players Toni Gomes, Paulo Alves, Mich'el Parker, Jordan Williams, Anthony Glennon, Jordan Hunter and Harvey Whyte will also depart, while Yan Dhanda has agreed a free transfer to Swansea City.

New contracts have been offered to U23s duo George Johnston and Conor Masterson.

Everybody at Liverpool FC thanks all departing players for their contributions and wishes them the best of luck for the future.

Emre Can is gone for good so also Jon Flanagan. Sad that Jon Flanagan was unable to take his chances with Liverpool being a local lad.
We wish them well.

No doubt that there have been duds but Edwards and his team are responsible for identifying the players, and I’m sure Klopp is part of that process as well.

Either way, there is no Manager vs Committee debate. It’s one cohesive unit and it shows you how important it is to have everyone on the same page. Hard to think of a signing under klopp which doesn’t fit the expected player profile (Caulker and Klavan??).

It also goes to show the important of CL football. I know football is all about trophies but playing in the CL year in year out is crucial for us to be able to attract and afford top quality players.

Jimmy just stop being a fool.

klopp is calling all the shots.

you cannot have Hunter and Edwards go from 0% success rate to 100% rate jist cos Rodgers is gone.

mike Edwards is a dangerous twat. we are damned lucky klopp is in full charge

Erm, not really buddy

Can ... don't wish any ill will on him but don't really wish him any good will either, it's just like, ok, he's gone. We won't miss him and have better coming in or already in. Sometimes he was just a bit better than average, a lot of the time he was just average, offered nothing, and also had a questionable attitude as well

Flanagan ... he can do one the pathetic woman beating moron, he never showed anything on the pitch that said he would make the grade either

Pretty sure that's our spending done until we flog some of the deadwood. Mostly wages more than anything.

Can's gone (any minute), Lallana will probably be going, Markovic has offers but we need to lower our valuation, Sturridge will be gone if we can get a buyer, Bogdan will be gone (contract expires?), Ward will probably want to leave as he won't get a chance, Mignolet may well want to leave as he won't play either and I think Clyne is still up for sale too (because he's ****e, basically)

Clear that lot out, get a keeper (need possibly two here!) and hopefully another wide forward, promote from the likes of Wilson, Chirivella and woodburn and we'll be in very good shape next season! I'd love another CB, but we can't be changing too much too soon. We've got basically an entire new midfield in one window already!

A lot have been moaning about our squad depth towards the end of the season and having signed a coupe of players, you want to sell a load? Makes no sense!

Erm, I didn't say I wanted to sell?

Those listed are either already up for sale or well known to be looking for a move (I could possibly add Milner to that list, not sure), not ones I want to sell. If it were up to me, I'd be keeping Lallana and Ward. Clyne is ****e though, I'd rather play Milner RB than him.

just want and need a forward.

ings origi and sturridge offer zero so we need someone to back up firmino as no 9 and we need wide forwards too.

we now prob have too many cms.

for 3 places we now have fekir, fabinho, kieta, henderson, Milner, windy, ox, lallana

probably one or two will go. Milner might go at end of current deal and lallana looks toast but i doubt he will go.

ox being injured complicates things as a player who could cover for wide forward and midfield.

I think in terms of balance things are ok except for up front.

karius mingolet
taa clyne
Robertson Moreno
lovren/Matip
vvd/ klavan
fabinho/Henderson
kieta/ windy
fekir/ox/milner/lallana
mane/? maybe fekir here
salah/? maybe ox and Wilson here... but very different options.
firmino/sturridge/ings/origi/solanke

for me out no 9 options are out of balance. so we need to address it. we are certainly at the point of one out, one in now but we can shed 2 attacking cms and 2 strikers without even feeling a pinch

We need that keeper. A CB and a forward still. Only then would we have a squad like city’s. highly unlikely though

What kids can step up?

Not seen a thing about Lallana or Clyne possibly moving. Or Ward but I agree he'll probably leave

Lallana and Ox can also play in the front front. Milner can play anywhere. Fabinho can play RB. [HASHTAG]#options[/HASHTAG]
