Is the Shaq talk a smokescreen to get Lyon to pull their finger out? Since this news broke, the gossip also suggests that Fekir has told Lyon that he wants to move to Liverpool only....and Lyon have shifted their stance.
I hope he really wants to come, if he doesn't sign before the WC I'd have my doubts.

I think lyon want us to bid a number then they will decide how much to add onto that number so we have to come back and bid again a couple times til they get enough.
e.g.. 50mil bid..

I think the Virgil saga showed that we will pay the money if necessary. There'll be some players Klopp wants at any cost, and some at the right price. That crucial difference will decide how we go about the negotiations.
I think a number of these have shown that if you keep saying no LFC don't really go away, they just come back with a bit more money.

Maybe. I do think our policy has changed subtly though.
We'll really go for someone if we think we must have him, but there are some who we'll play the game over - and be prepared to say "ah **** it" and move on to a similar target if the price gets too high.
At least that's how I hope we're playing it, because we have to let others know that even if we have plenty of dosh and gaps in our squad there are limits on how much we'll cough up.
