We should immediately slap this £26m on what we were originally thinking of offering Soton for VVD (unofficially, of course!) because yes, we are now desperate. :emoticon-0107-sweat

Well... There's also Gomez, he healthy now.

Makes me wonder if we have a deal lined up for January agreed and can't announce so Soon maintain face.

I wouldn't call Wijnaldum nailed on first team. I also wouldn't be surprised if he's not with the team this time next year.


My point being though. This time last year everyone was saying we had a bad transfer window. Failed to get LB, etc.
 
We've got a shed load of midfielders now and we're keeping Ford: we've a shortage of CB's but we're letting Sakho go.

If the Sakho deal goes through, we've got a net spend of less than 15million...after getting CL money, huge TV deals and whatever else.

Apparently we were never interested in Lemar? In which case, we had all this money for VVD and no other plan apart from a midfielder coming next season.

If the window ends like this, we're really not much stronger than we were.
