KLOPP:

He told Sky Germany: “Liverpool is not a club that has to sell players. That is set in stone. So what they pay in the end doesn’t matter.

From a financial standpoint, there is no price limit to let him go. No price at which we are ready to give in. Our goal is to have the best possible team. So we want to keep our guys and add new ones. That is our plan.
“Today, no player on the planet is untouchable. But a transfer is also a question of timing and if you have the opportunity and the need to react to such a transfer.

“Also you have to ask, if you have the time to react. But just because of one request of one club, we don’t have to think about that. We are not in that situation.

Seems pretty clear to me what this all means.

Lets all just move on and let him move next summer.

Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier joked Mario Lemina will join Liverpool next season
Good luck on your Liverpool move! Le Tissier jokes over new Southampton signing on Twitter
MARIO LEMINA has only just joined Southampton but one Saints legend fears he could be on his way to Liverpool soon.

Did he ever play for Man Utd so MEN can call it a "hilarious troll of Liverpool fans"?

Its well known that Barca have been looking at Couts for a few seasons, its just now they have to replace Neymar (although its more likely a replacement for Inesta) and have a huge amount of cash burning a hole and desperate to keep up with Real, hence the approach this summer.
So if he's a long term target we can either make them wait as they'll be back next summer or milk them for as much of that £200m to test their desperation. Either way we eventually lose Couts but have the money.

That's it. It's the same as Real Madrid. When they choose the player they want they keep returning until they get them. Couts will go at some point, hopefully next summer at the earliest.

Exactly why De Gea will be a Madrid player at some point. They'll keep knocking until it's done.

Unlike other clubs they don't have to unearth gems etc. if you're on their list they get you. If not they come back until they do get you.

They debated this on the new PL debate show last night. Good show actually and it's every night on Sky PL at 10pm.

Interesting comments from Rose.

Want it to play up north at some point. Want to win a trophy and if opportunity comes to join club then wouldn't have issue voicing his thoughts to Spurs. Only has 1 big contract left and wants to make most of it. Wants a pay rise when renegotiate contract because feels he should be paid what he deserves.

he's been tapped up by United.

Chiefs open to letting Philippe Coutinho join Barcelona
05:00: Apologies. It is looking very much like a Philippe Coutinho kind of day.
Spanish newspaper Marca are sensationally reporting that Liverpool chiefs are actually HAPPY to let him go for the right price.
And, instead, the stumbling block is manager Jurgen Klopp.
Klopp is desperate for his star playmaker to remain at Anfield and it is he who will need the most persuading if Barcelona want to tie up a deal.
Diego Costa would be better than Philippe Coutinho
04:40: That's the view of Manchester United legend Phil Neville.
Speaking on Sky Sports, the retired defender said he thinks Chelsea's Diego Costa would be more useful to Liverpool than Philippe Coutinho.
"I think if they got £100m, reinvested and say bought Diego Costa or someone like that," he said.
"That would give them a better chance of winning the league than probably having Coutinho in the side.

1) They would say that, wouldn't they?

2) Chuckle Bro 2.... <doh>

Of course it's only an opinion, I'm hardly going to have insider info about Coutinho ffs <laugh>

The difference with Suarez was that Barca made him aware that they'd wait 12 months, and he accepted that scenario.

I don't think Coutinho could bank on the same scenario, Barca need someone now, if it isn't going to be him then I fully expect that they'd move on to another target. Therefore if the player wants the move he's going to have push for it to go through this month.

Barca wasn't in for Luis in 2013. Your analogy is pants, dude.

If this was true it makes it even easier for LFC. Coutinho could huff all he likes but we say no, Barca go get someone else showing he wasnt wanted quite that desperately and Coutinho not going anywhere...

IMO Barca would be back next year no matter what as it's a matter perception. They can't be seen to lose top players and have little clubs like Liverpool knocking them back all in one year lol.

Not just Barca when he has a good WC.

Little club like Southampton also knocking Liverpool back?. The word little misleading???

I've said since before the Ford saga, we ALL have to get used to a new reality where clubs just don't have to sell, no matter how much agents' may lose on it. I can see Soton quite simply saying they're just not selling to us again - and for the same reason I can see us saying to Barca 'Not unless it suits us. The big adjustment will be for agents, who believe, based on experience, that they control the player, therefore they have the whip hand. They're the ones who are going to struggle in the future.
