If he's injured?Cout is in the squad for CL game on Wednesday. Play him then and Barca won't want him this year anyway as will be ineligible for CL. Job done.

Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier joked Mario Lemina will join Liverpool next season
Good luck on your Liverpool move! Le Tissier jokes over new Southampton signing on Twitter
MARIO LEMINA has only just joined Southampton but one Saints legend fears he could be on his way to Liverpool soon.
Its well known that Barca have been looking at Couts for a few seasons, its just now they have to replace Neymar (although its more likely a replacement for Inesta) and have a huge amount of cash burning a hole and desperate to keep up with Real, hence the approach this summer.
So if he's a long term target we can either make them wait as they'll be back next summer or milk them for as much of that £200m to test their desperation. Either way we eventually lose Couts but have the money.
So what happens next is that a bad back turns into a meeting with Klopp and a transfer request
Awww don't be like that I only got a bite and ran with it...
And nobody can deny it plenty of fish came to the surface seems this Couts stuff is important to you guys![]()
Interesting comments from Rose.
Want it to play up north at some point. Want to win a trophy and if opportunity comes to join club then wouldn't have issue voicing his thoughts to Spurs. Only has 1 big contract left and wants to make most of it. Wants a pay rise when renegotiate contract because feels he should be paid what he deserves.
Chiefs open to letting Philippe Coutinho join Barcelona
05:00: Apologies. It is looking very much like a Philippe Coutinho kind of day.
Spanish newspaper Marca are sensationally reporting that Liverpool chiefs are actually HAPPY to let him go for the right price.
And, instead, the stumbling block is manager Jurgen Klopp.
Klopp is desperate for his star playmaker to remain at Anfield and it is he who will need the most persuading if Barcelona want to tie up a deal.
Diego Costa would be better than Philippe Coutinho
04:40: That's the view of Manchester United legend Phil Neville.
Speaking on Sky Sports, the retired defender said he thinks Chelsea's Diego Costa would be more useful to Liverpool than Philippe Coutinho.
"I think if they got £100m, reinvested and say bought Diego Costa or someone like that," he said.
"That would give them a better chance of winning the league than probably having Coutinho in the side.

He won't. The rules state that the qualifying rounds/ play offs don't make the player ineligible.Cout is in the squad for CL game on Wednesday. Play him then and Barca won't want him this year anyway as will be ineligible for CL. Job done.
Of course it's only an opinion, I'm hardly going to have insider info about Coutinho ffs
The difference with Suarez was that Barca made him aware that they'd wait 12 months, and he accepted that scenario.
I don't think Coutinho could bank on the same scenario, Barca need someone now, if it isn't going to be him then I fully expect that they'd move on to another target. Therefore if the player wants the move he's going to have push for it to go through this month.
He isn't ever going to be a replacement if a world class player is he.

My bad.Barca wasn't in for Luis in 2013. You're analogy is pants, dude.
If this was true it makes it even easier for LFC. Coutinho could huff all he likes but we say no, Barca go get someone else showing he wasnt wanted quite that desperately and Coutinho not going anywhere...
IMO Barca would be back next year no matter what as it's a matter perception. They can't be seen to lose top players and have little clubs like Liverpool knocking them back all in one year lol.
My bad.
So they got him at the first time of asking despite him being on a new long term contract then......I see![]()

Odd that they only paid you £65m - in 5 instalments.....With a £75m release clause in it.
Not what donga said, they didn't offer on him the previous summer. The first time they asked he wasn't on a new long term contract.
Little club like Southampton also knocking Liverpool back?. The word little misleading???
