Yeah doubt Madrid want him now unless can get him cheap anyway.

but I highly doubt doubt TAA even wants to leave now. Chance to win the prem, still in all other comps. Why would he be in a rush to leave this season.

Yeah tbf a player can change their mind whilst still at the current club, happens all the time - especially when sentimentality starts creeping in if we do win the prem this year.

Perhaps they were looking to get it done
 
Like everyone else, I don't know what will happen with Trent. I was fairly confident that he wouldn't leave but I've always felt that there's a bit of immaturity about him and seeing him not seemingly wanting to renew, I feel that he could be persuaded into making a move because he's been flattered. Remember he said that he would like to win the Balon d'or and thought that he could. That's pretty delusional even for the world class player that he is.

If we can win something of note this season - PL or CL - which will be tough and if Mo can keep his form for most of it - he could be in with a good shot this season

I suppose it depends on how you define world class, but I wouldn't say he's top of the tree at all - and it remains to be seen if he can ever get there.
He's very talented obviously, but there are serious flaws in his game as well. His passing range is second to none but his defending is pretty average - not terrible, but not great either.

Surely it's just to cover Trent and Madrid for when he leaves in the summer. Make it all appear normal, even though he probably agreed with them months ago
