I can only go by what is being reported, but his camp gave Liverpool the nod that he would be prepared to join and Liverpool reacted accordingly. Isn’t this how most transfers happen?

Aye, just read that now on my phone after watching a film in bed before I nod off. I take it all back, Liverpool if this is true - whilst I still balk at £111m for this player, I can't fault the club IF they've been encouraged by his representatives. Someone has got to the lad, but it's a moot point now as he's burned his bridges, IMO. But I also understand why Liverpool can't walk away until Brighton tell them that they're breaking the verbal contract at their end.
All in all, humiliating and infuriating, but, apart from getting involved at this price in the first place, it's not the club's fault. And it certainly ain't Klopp's.
