He's the one who has to say hey i need a CM. then the team ought to be pulling out all the types they've been working on and they come to an agreement who to finally go for.
No one person be it a technical director, scout, or manager can know it all. Its pretty clear to me klopp had faith in elliott and jones at the start of this season or at least said so and had his 4 or 5 players in midfield as well.
If klopp were sacked in the morning he might or might not talk about wanting other guys than he had but couldn't shift ox or ketia etc. who knows.
in the end:
1) milner - contract renewal - in the end no real issue as he's a general cover for all and that. its hardly blocking buy a 60mil player
2) keita - hasn't worked, always injured, cannot sell. blocking a slot
3) ox. - as above. blocking a slot. is HG.
4) henderson - aging rapidly. not replaced, maybe should be the milner of the squad?
5) Thiago, the guy added to squad when sides sat off us and there to pass. in 20/21 he returned form injury and we won 10 out of 11 or something to get us 4th and played last year as we went on a run. Clearly lacks any sort of pace of legs to get about. Has a role of bench or in certain games?? but 200k a week!!!
6) Fabinho. the DM, the only DM. absolutely looks run out. shattered. doing the work of 2 others really for 3 years.
7) Elliott. simply not a cm, never will be. you all know why but think its bashing a kid so won't admit it.
8. Jones. massive injuries, not really a cm either. he was always an lw at youth level.
9) arthur, pure panic get someone. Can't run and never coudl anyway. injured as well
10. Bajcetic. 17 year old tunring 18 and a CB/DM just learning
11) Morton. 19 year old DM sent to blackburn to develop
theres a massive amount of players but imo he's either trying to develop 2 or 3 that are not yet up to it but has a cabal of seniors who are absolutely not up to it or have aged. Its a bit unfair to elliott to be exposed like this when the others can't carry him but in effect he needs to be carrying thaigo to get the best form him.
for me..... if we want thaigo strutting around passing then two others need to run all day to do the work round him. simple as.
We are going to lose artur, milner, ox and keita next season. that then brings you down to 7, of which 4 are really kids or a 22 year old whos not kicked on (jones).
that should be ringing alarms bells in klopp';s offce but also in Ward's office.
We are NOT ready for this and its already hurting us badly.
11 players are too many to play monopoly money with and add 2 more to according to klopp and of course FSG.
The issue is and has been we are stuck with or not willing to cut the dross loose. and we are now paying for that.
Klopp has a history of building a great team, then being to loyal to the team as it gets older. We are in serious trouble and I suspect will finish about 7th or 8th and then have trouble attracting decent players.
It's forgivable to forget about Arthur (especially since he's only on loan). Also Fabio C, could be considered an attacker or just a youth prospect
Keira and Thiago are definitely real people though and are unmistakably midfielders
I agree completely. Klopp built the team and made it great again, but he's also to blame for us being bad at the moment and the poorer players he's signed recently and lack of vision to replace the team as it aged.
don't worry guys klopp has this covered.... according to the rags.
bellingham is too expensive in a price war (who'd have thought it) so we are going back in for mattheus nunes who went to wolves and stunk the place out. he was heavily linked (by his own agent ) to us all summer so it only stands to reason that he must be our no 1 target now.

thaigo isn't always injured either. have to have degrees of sick note as keita is a special one for that.
