If they have any sense they will go back to their original bid and let Chelsea have him if they want to spend £40m

<laugh>

Like the have any sense. If it takes til September 1 fine they will end up paying up. They are a bottomless put of craptitude. They paid 26mil for lescott.

Obviously this is why i am not in charge of the club but being perfectly honest - i would keep sterling and play him in the reserves. I would not sell to teach all a lesson.

I would love to see some club do this one day to make all players think twice about getting uppity, I just think £30-£40m is a lot to throw away.

And have since won the league twice. City threw stupid money away at the start to build a top four challenging team but have since bought players like Aguero, Silva and Yaya for much more realistic prices.

They won both off aguero and toure on massive wages. Silva cost a very reasonable amount.

However....... they are desperate to improve cos they seriously look 3rd best or 4th best next year

You should know by paying rooney and dimaria and lately falcao absolute sinful wages how it goes.

City will have tipped their hand by adding 10mil to the sterling bid in a week so lfc can be sure they will be back.... tell me another city target... whilshire?

Anyone decent?

Me too, cant stand the modern day superstars. His wage is not a lot but as a club we probably need the cash from the transfer fee. However would still be happy if we did it.

And that is my point, Sterling is nothing more to them than filling the HG quota with decent quality (as would be Wilshere). They will spend big on improving the first team and if they have to drop down in quality for HG they will.

We had the same problem with Rooney only worse, we had left ourselves in a position where we were dependant on him which was unforgivable when you look at the players we have lost and not missed.

Rooney showed who wore the trousers at OT when he had Fergie in tears and the club by the bollocks.

Possible line up for next season, assuming Laughing Gas Sterling goes.

I think that particular team is unlikely and that midfield would worry me a little. Get Milner in the middle with henderson and Milner to solidify things more. 433. Ibe over Lallana to. If Firmino is leading the line he need strong and quick forward runners around him.

either way they are going to be back with our 50mil and we'll be laughing cos we know he aint going to improve them one iota.

the only thing going for them is that set of fans won't turn on him that quick... if he was off to real madrid i'd predict him being buried within 6 month... even chelsea fans wouldn't entertain him long.. city... don't seem to have developed the guys who will turn on players yet

Tbf at least Rooney had earned the right to be demanding, but yeah, you're right you did get yourself into a bad position. Other problem for
