"Best Ever" is a hard expression to use. The rules, tactics, even balls and boots are different in each era and so is the training and preparation. Gone are heavy leather balls and thick sturdy boots to be replaced by high tech fabrics and light pingy balls. Very different technique to control.
Can only compare against same generation. Suarez certainly will never go down in the long term history books as Messi's equal... But for a season or two, absolutely, and as I said above, it wasn't just his performances it's the way he also converted the players around him. By pure will of character he even turned Studge temporarily into a world class striker.
He was never as much a show-boater as say Ronaldo, he was more practically applied and I've never seen a player score goals when there is no clear path quite so often.
Other great players had great teams around them. Suarez with us didn't have many great players.
