First off.
Lack of evidence is not the same as no evidence. Lack of evidence means there isn't enough to get a guilty verdict therefore they don't pursue a court case.

Second, he paid her off. Something all innocent people do of course.

Third, I didn't claim he was guilty, but pointed out his innocence was due to the Vegas Police not being willing to pursue a legal case.

Fourth, you seem to have forgotten the rule between us. I've started noticing this, this is a reminder.
Really got me with that one mate, is it a PM kind of thing?

There was evidence she had been raped. She just refused to tell the police who raped her at the time. That she had been with Ronaldo is known (and something he doesn't deny). That she was paid by Ronaldo to keep quiet is also known and confirmed. She claims to have been harassed by thugs and is something her family also claims. As far as I know no evidence of that besides her and her family.

Yeah, no doubt, the money ran out and now she wants more... But if you add the pieces together it looks very damning for Ronaldo regardless of her motivations. You also have to wonder how many others just stay quiet because of the intimidation.

Could she have been raped by someone else after leaving Ronaldo that night? Maybe, but doesn't make sense that Ronaldo would pay her to be quiet if it wasn't him.

It's the kind of thing that United fans would have agreed he was guilty if it had been someone else. But golden boy Ronaldo couldn't possibly be guilty.

Football rivalry and banter about each other's players is one thing.

But when you have to resort to accusing someone of being a rapist ... fcking hell lads.

A person's character off the pitch is generally judged by what they've actually done. Nobody on here will mention it of course. I could quote all of it, and it would demonstrate that someone who's done the things he has, especially when he's made mistakes and the way he's handled them e.g. the birth of his first son.. completely juxtaposes the cheap accusations being labelled at him on here. But what would be the point?

Here's a thought though. If you genuinely believe he's a rapist, why the hell are you talking about the merits of him being a good or bad footballer?

I'm out.

Would you have taken him for us?
Well no, because it's Ronaldo. But even taking away the baggage, you can't really compare. We don't particularly need him, he wouldn't suit our style of play, he'd smash our wage structure and Klopp probably wouldn't want his ego. Plus we don't tend to go for marquee signings and as a club, we've won the biggest prizes quite recently so we don't need the same psychological strengthening. He just wouldn't fit us. If I was a Man U Fan, then yeah. Or a Man City or Chelsea fan for that matter.

I have criticised the man as a footballer and his fading skills. But I’ve refrained from talking about his activities outside the pitch and various speculations about them. I am sure he or his lawyers do not read this football board. But if they did and decided to sue for libel against those here who openly declared him as such a serious criminal , this board would be instantly closed and the people who made the allegations sued.

Please can we refrain from writing personal things that we can’t possibly substantiate? More to the point where are the moderators <cool>

If you have loads of money, would you really want to go through a drawn out court case, espwcially for someone who's Image is worth so much?

More than I would take Ronaldo because he would fit our style more and I don't think he has the dominant ego, but also not the work ethic, of Ronaldo. But again, he would smash our wage structure, we don't need him, and we don't need the psychological side.

Hmmmm I'm slightly confused that you think messi or Ronaldo would fit in with every side but ours.

.

You are legally wrong, Even on social media accusing someone of being such a serious criminal is libellous and would instantly take you to court. It’s not opinion.
