Inagine united don’t win anything this year after buying Sancho varane and Ronaldo. Feel ole has no excuses anymore. Win something decent or be sacked surely.
Odd choice to go back for Ronaldo...when there's Kane, Mbappe and Haaland all leaving this summer or the next. A bit short-sighted?
He is 36. Utd have just shattered their pay scales (again) I would personally rather a 36 year old ronaldo than a 28 year old kane. However the guy will be gone next year 25mil to juve. 50mil to Ronaldo and utd will get what? Probably about 50mil in shirt sales all saying Ronaldo.
Clearly. All they do it take money out of the club. I heard the Glaziers have room filled with bank notes taken from ManU and they dive into and frolic in it every night. But Serious, its like no-one has taken Barca as a lesson. Reckless spending and high wages will ruin a club. There comes a point where banks will want their money back. The deal made more sense for City, as they just don't have to worry about money.
I know the guy's a physical machine, but Haaland would have been the best choice of the three or Mbappe. Years left in them. Adidas will be the ones profiting from the Ronaldo signing surely...United will still get their 75mill a season, regardless of which names are on the back or how many are sold. They might be able to profit elsewhere such as TV or other merch though I guess.
To me this shows you the real power houses in football Financially we cannot live with Utd Chelsea City This is stealth destruction Just like the Pogba buy which blew the transfer market Utd have the ability to flex their muscles whenever they want Their income allows them to do so And now everyone else will play catch up or show that they can do similar Expectations will swell at OT now and they will now have to deliver I think this buy absolutely places utd In The title and CL mixup this season
They'll recoup his fee on all those fans who burned their Ronnie shirts when they thought he was going to City and now have to get another. Seems Utd are making a bit of a habit of taking good players at the end of their careers and wringing the last few drops of quality out of them.
I know I said this a couple of weeks ago, but remember when we all thought Covid might curtail football's profligacy?
It’s just more debt for utd to be fair. Personally, I think it’s a vanity signing….and doesn’t increase their chance of winning anything but I’ll happily crank up the pressure saying they should
I said the same and was hopeful that some sort of order or balance may be restored. It does highlight the huge gap between the haves and the have-nots. If you look closely It is only a handful of clubs doing the spending. The usual suspects. It actually leaves a very bad taste in the mouth for the rest of football. But .... as long as Gary Neville - Mr I Speak For The Whole of The Football World - thinks it's legal and just and moral that's all that matters ...... isn't it?
