I believe that was what I was inferring with the second part of my comment.

But if it was a long term problem, you'd think that the club maybe willing to wait till the summer. Trying now seems more like a short term problem.

It seems like we wanted kabak for a while. Lots of recommendations from Wagner and the schalke director of football who both know klopp so seems like we’ve maybe just brought signing him forward 6 months to a year. We enquired about him in the summer but we’re quoted £30m for him

Think the fact we're looking at more than one CB means that Matip is probably going to be out for most of the rest of the season, with questions about his general fitness and if he can manage PL anymore.

Matip is a good play, but never really fit.

We can't afford to pay Matip's wages any more for the amount of games he is available. He is class, and played the 2019 CL final alongside Virgil. I'll remeber him at same level as Gary Gillespie or Glyn Hyssen. Not up there with Hansen, Lawrenson, Carra or Hyypia. That's my unsentimental view.

Are either of them quick? I ask because, let's be honest, we're not keeping a slow CB long-term. I know Lovren wasn't as quick as Virgil and Joe (or Matip, for that matter), but he was bought pre-Klopp. And as decent a job Phillips and Williams have done, that's why I can't see them having a long-term future with us.

How **** must Phillips be feeling now though? Some good performances, chance to start a run of games unexpectedly and then we go and buy two more CBs. Poor lad
Both of the new ones are untried. Phillips is the most senior and experienced of all the CB's that can actually stand up at the moment, so if we're looking to get the midfielders back into their correct positions, Nat might still get a few more games yet.

Maybe a few whilst we're waiting for some injuries, but I see Hendo being a mainstay there now until at least Fab is back. Hendo + one other

There was a president who liked Russian prozzies to do that to him when he wasn't on fire. Allegedly.

Ah yes, all part of the fake Russian dossier, with the fake video. And the reason the video was fake because the clowns who made it forgot that the hotel room has been refurbished at the time of Trumps stay, but made it using the old decor.

Ben Davies confirmed. I guess having a left footer is a decent option. Time to get behind him, who knows could be a bargain <ok>

Aye, very much like the fake Kenyan birth certificate of Obama that Trump and Stone touted, that had the dates done in US, rather than British Empire format.

In fairness, he couldn't even get a lower league team to take him on when he came back off his loan in the summer, so he knows the score. Done a tremendous job (has he been beaten in the air even once?), but he was always only supposed to cover until the cavalry arrived. Hope he's earned himself a good move now in the summer, and I bet there'll be a few Championship teams ready to give him a contract. Damn good show. :emoticon-0165-muscl

Vardy was playing for a non league team iirc. Davies has been on full view to everyone, yet until we had our injury crisis wouldn’t have been anywhere near Liverpool

Guess we'll have to write him off before he's kicked a ball then...
