Fair enough. I will politely disagree. I think he'd probably be a little bit lower than Mignolet. Good shot stopper but flappy flappy. Would have to play in front of a dominant defence.
I'd have him at Goodison in a heartbeat, not that we'd ever stand a chance like.

We desperately need a new keeper to replace Taj.

Oh deffo, Tim Howard has been a slow downward slope and this year has magnified that more than most. He would improve you guys and probably quite a few prem teams. I just don't think he would be in the top keepers category. Off the top of my head these ones are instantly better and instead i think Casillas is in the middling group of keepers:

Courtous
De Gea
Lloris
Hart
Cech
Begovic

yes, of course if you can simply hock him for 10mil in a years time then 100k = only 50k per week over prem average = 2.5mil.

its a no brainer IF he's right

anyway.....

we will see cos really he should have a deal someplace just not announced and jule 1 it'll come out.

Is that the month between June and July?

I'm saying he's still a top drawer keeper mate, and you're over playing his height as an issue imo. As crosses do exist outside of these shores.....

Fair enough. Can't believe we paid £16m and £90k a week wages for Balotelli and passed up/baulked at Kono. And yeah, Bobby, perhaps I'm crediting them too much intelligence out of my exaspertion.

True, 1 player i can't believe a lot of clubs passed up on but looks a real gem (maybe only in my eyes) who hasn't really gotten any attention is jefferson montero at Swansea. To me he looks a real live wire and more often than not does his defender cause he's got pure speed and can dribble. was only around 5m a real bargain.

To be fair - Dnipro's President is a nutter and had no intention of selling Kono, which is why he hasn't left sooner.

konoplyanka is a winger... not a striker.. why bring ****ty balotelli into it? we bought lallana not konoplyanka... discuss......

Alvaro Arbeloa is reportedly set to leave Real Madrid and could complete a transfer to Liverpool.

The Spaniard is a former Reds player and could be set for a spectacular return.

He has fallen behind Dani Carvajal in Madrid and the imminent arrival of Danilo appears to have slammed the door shut on his future, according to Fichajes.net.

Arbeloa is set to leave and there's no reason why Anfield can't be his next destination.

Ban him mods ffs

He's been warned before about the use of the Metro

we will see.

I would have him in for a year without question as long as his legs are up to it. he's done well at real.

lots of experience and sensibility.

I don't understand you MITO sometimes. On the one hand you think solid/ MITO [HASHTAG]#average[/HASHTAG] defenders are okay in the team but you would like quality (Mankiller/flanno). On the one hand you are advocating for Arbeloa to be signed on who is the definition of a solid / MITO [HASHTAG]#average[/HASHTAG] defender. I hope this is the fanboy in you speaking :D

Yes please. Would take arbeloa without hesitation.

Can play Rb or Lb.. Solid and good defensively. Will be a good stand in at RB until Flanno returns <ok>

Arbeloa is far from average

yes yes... it is fan boy talking <diva>

but its also... ohoh we are seriously lacking realist MITO talking.

1. What we have:
RB: wisdom, flanagan (injured) manquillo (homesick?)
LB: moreno, enrique(told to find new club.

In all fairness we are desperately short as proved by can playing out of position.

At 33 arbeloa has played well and at the maximum of his potential for real madrid. He did very very well to get a game there IMO. that proves he is solid.

It cannot prove if the guy can still run.

BUT... lfc have right now one full back in each poition at best and really.. moreno can't defend and i don't think rodgers trusts wisdom.

2. Reservations:

As a result even for one year arbeloa would make some sense to me.. redconn is very wise in his reservations I also agree with those.

3. average tag:
and finally as i have said... [HASHTAG]#average[/HASHTAG] is not an insult. most prem players are [HASHTAG]#average[/HASHTAG] after all. the mediocre ones dont last long or get a game and the good ones move up the league to find their level.

so flanagan is average. that's better than being championship like little jay spearing or stephen Darby, of tom ince or a plethora of other lads we might name.

4. my aims:
LFC can carry a few once they are not bang in the centre of the team and setting the tone. LFC need to focus most of their available cash on a striker and a CM now. Realistically milner is a good add but he can't be the total add and so we really need another CM and we are in dire need of a real forward.

If we spunk 35-40 mil on one player up front, 15mil on Kovaci and added ings, milner, arbeloa wile balancing the books with many dead wood transactions I would say realistically thats ok no?
