Pedro Chirivella has expressed his frustration at being left in limbo as the Liverpool midfielder admitted he wants a return to Spain next season.
Chirivella is on loan at Extremadura until the end of the campaign but is unable to play after the deal failed to be ratified in time on deadline day in January.
The 21-year-old, whose last
Liverpool appearance came in May 2016, has instead been training with the Spanish second division side.
Liverpool have completed the signing of a star for the future.
Reds staff have been impressed by young goalkeeper Ben Winterbottom after his trial with the club.
Winterbottom, 17, has now linked up with Liverpool's Under-18 side after signing from Blackburn.
The teenage goalkeeper was on the
Liverpool bench for their victory over
Everton in their derby.
Liverpool U18s boss Barry Lewtas
told the Liverpool Echo: "Ben was available and with the injuries we've got, it's about making sure we have enough cover.
