I'm afraid not. Again.... there is a difference between what a player is actually worth and what you can ask for. Mist of the discussion which you've misrepresented here is that if x was normally going for 20m but is now being offered at 50m then the rates apparently have changed and all should be adjusted accordingly. Added to that. It has often been discussed on threads like this that we in past years have been overcharged by clubs based on the fact they know how much money we have to spend... Carroll for example (I'm sure you were there laughing at us paying what we did at the time?) So it's same situation...we know how much barca have in their pocket so can ask for as much as we like since we don't want to sell. They can always walk away. Absolutely nothing to do with how much a player is worth to them or us. Which is subjective and apparently turned on its head anyway. Really not hard to comprehend.
I did, in that very sentence. You seem to beleive we are saying Ford is 'worth' £135m - we're not. We're saying we should either get that for him from a team with £200m in their pocket or they'll walk away. Either way, we win (big). Do you honstly believe Lukhesky was 'worth' £90m? really? But that's what you got - at least double his 'real' worth? Well that's all opinion, but 'worth' is irrelevant - it's about what clubs can pay and will pay. Barca CAN pay what we want - if they won't... **** 'em.
We didn't say he was worth £135m. We said we needed £135m if Barcelona wanted to take him against our will. Big difference!
TBH I thought we would cave at 80-90m I do think had neymar not gone for batshit crazy money- and of course pogba and lukaku he would already be gone at 90m But had neymar not gone this crazy **** wouldn't be being discussed anyhow
Getting where.. I haven't changed my position over VD since it came up on this thread. I criticised our approach...said we got our just desserts and after I saw VD's behaviour stated my reservations about him joining us....i distinctly remember at least 3 others sharing these view too.... Try again.
I can only partly agree, Page. Since they've taken over they've paid good money for players several times. Some of them worked out but some were catastrophic. It's hardly surprising, seeing as they're businessmen first and foremost, that they're cautious in the way they spend. We all get frustrated because we want things doing our way, but I think the accusation that they won't spend is unfair. Comparison with Utd or the oil-rich clubs is equally unfair - we're just not in that bracket and only a sustained run of success will get us there. Their main problem, imo, is a lack of understanding of the football world and a little naivete in the market. Perhaps they should have employed better advisors, but it's easy for us to criticise when we don't have to do it.
Told u every time we discuss it it going up 20m So 260m now This is what I think that fsg should be doing Btw fsg on my autocorrect comes out as ffs lmao
Ah so he's not worth it now then glad we cleared that up laugh out loud (because I'm not allowed to write lol)
Fair enough saint, but our owners don't seem to learn from past mistakes and dont(at this point)seem arsed and are silent at a very important time, I still don't think they've got the hang of "soccer" yet, but only time will tell.
You still haven't got the hang of this, have you? Bet you sold your cow for a handful of magic beans, didn't yer?
These are fun. http://www.insidefutbol.com/2017/08...ilippe-coutinho-signing-may-take-time/346347/ http://www.insidefutbol.com/2017/08...esult-can-open-philippe-coutinho-door/346354/
It was Monday, then Tuesday, then Wednesday.... now it's after the Hoffenheim game, or maybe after both legs, or... This is like Milhouse being knocked back by Lisa Simpson.
Barcelona slapped down again http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spor...pool-reject-second-philippe-coutinho-13456435 Liverpool have told Barca they will be wasting their time if they come back in with a third offer and are adamant that Coutinho will not be Neymar's replacement at the Camp Nou.
