Liverpool have agreed a £38million deal with Real Madrid to sign striker Karim Benzema, according to reports.

The Reds have been looking at Benzema in the last few days as they aim to sign a world class striker during the January transfer window.

And after Madrid told them they can have the player for £38million, the Daily Star says a deal has now been agreed for that price.

Benzema is not believed to have sorted out personal terms yet or held any talks with Liverpool, but Brendan Rodgers seems keen to tie up everything quickly, ahead of the Frenchman’s arrival on January 1st.

Would we not be in danger of FFP conflict if we pay that much after everything we've already spent?

don't worry there is no f'n way another real madrid reject is coming to the prem when he's ronaldo's bumbuddy and frankly we aint going to pay him enough

Liverpool are closing in on the signing of Marco Reus with Borussia Dortmund already working on signing a replacement for him.

The Reds have moved into pole position for Reus in recent weeks after being alerted by the news that he’s rejected a new contract at Dortmund.

They were expecting to move for him the summer, but reports say a January deal is now on the cards, with Dortmund resigned to losing him – and targeting a replacement.

PSG’s Javier Pastore in the man they want, and negotiations are underway for him to arrive in the new year; freeing up Reus to sign for Liverpool.

Brendan Rodgers is a long-term admirer of Reus and it’s thought he would make him the club’s highest paid player ever if he signs.

Reus to be our highest paid player ever.

Are we bribing him?

look the going rate for anyone these days is 300k. utd have paid childern that <laugh> no seriously if you look across clubs you can bet costa and hazard... di maria and falcao.... yaya and aguero and silva... or ozil and sanchez.... there s not a one of those who are on less that 200k and some are on 300k.

di maria is a worldie and reputed to be on 230k per week basic with top ups as well.... costa is supposedly only on 150k per week like a slave.

If reus is willing to join us it can only be for 300k per week. we paid suarez 180k.... the fact is this lads nearly on a free. he can go whereever so i sincerely doubt this has any basis in fact.

A rumour 2 days ago stated Valdes had turned down a move to us.

Today his agent says that a move from us to sign or trial Valdes never existed in the first place.

So it was either more crap paper talk or a cover up. Maybe Valdes failed our medical and its been decided that it will stay secret. We will probably never know.

Is Valdes really any good?

Valdes is alright. He was Barcelona's keeper for years and has a very impressive medal collection. He has experience. Great experience.

He was also raised in the classic Barcelona way and is good with his feet.

But he was always seen as the weakness in Barca's team. The player not as good as the rest, unexposed by a great outfield team.

But is Mignolet that good?

My questions are:

Is Valdes vocal?

Is Valdes a decision making?

Can Valdes lead?

He's experienced would no doubt be a great benefit.

Brendan Rodgers is ready to offer Yohan Cabaye an escape route out of Paris that's according to The Metro.

The former Newcastle midfielder has struggled to cement his place in the team since his £20m move to the French capital in January and the French club are said to be ready to offload him.

It is reported that Cabaye would prefer a move back to the Premier League and Liverpool will compete with Arsenal for his signature.

Liverpool target Xherdan Shaqiri could be subject to a January bid from Italian champions Juventus, reports the Daily Star.

The Swiss midfielder is reportedly a target for the Turin club, who will make a £17m bid for his services.

The Reds had been linked with Shaqiri throughout the summer but he eventually chose to stay at Bayern Munich, where he has already featured, and impressed, several times this season.

The 24-year-old will reportedly re-evaluate his position in the transfer window and Juventus could steal a march on Liverpool to bring the player to Italy.

They (Arsenal) turn down Fabregas but want Cabaye? Sounds about right #Wengerlogic

Liverpool FC boss Brendan Rodgers will try to recall Divock Origi from his loan spell at Lille in the January transfer window, that's according to the Daily Star.

They report that the Reds will try to thrash out a deal to bring the Belgian striker to Anfield six months earlier than planned after he made an impressive start to the season at the French club.

Rodgers is said to be keen to add more of a threat to his side after Daniel Sturridge suffered injury and Mario Balotelli struggled since his £16m move to Anfield.

Origi has scored four goals already for Lille since signing for £10m in the summer and immediately being loaned back to Ligue 1.

Fabio Borini could head back to Italy in the January transfer window according to Sporting Witness.

Inter Milan are said to be ready to make a firm offer for the Italy in the winter transfer window, and sporting director Piero Ausilio admitted that Borini is a player the Italian giants have considered signing.

He said: "It's early. We'll review and reevaluate options in December. Today I remain convinced that the staff put together is right.

"Anyway I like Fabio, but he leaves Liverpool only for a nice sum of money. We have made an attempt in the summer, but then we closed for Osvaldo, the first choice of Mazzarri."

Borini turned down moves to both QPR and Sunderland in order to fight for his place at Anfield in the summer but has started just two games this season.

Echo Gossip column.

the Italians will try and get Borini for about £5 mill, i knew it would probably end badly when he turned down moves away in the summer for good money, looks like that may be the case sadly.

Poor grammar as well.

"Inter Milan are said to be ready to make a firm offer for the Italy in the winter transfer window" wtf lol
