I guess. But it does say that we are very risk averse....which is quite typical for a US company.

Most clubs at top of the league are. Demands are so high. Look at Grujic. Highly thought of, playing well, signed for £6m. Not played and bene injured and people think he's a waste of money.

If he'd moved to a mid table club, where less pressure, played more and done ok and being linked to club for £20m then people would be complaining we didn't buy him year before for less.

Everyone has got impatient when it comes to young players, expecting them to make an immediate impact and when they don't, often written off which puts big clubs off buying them and instead buying them a year or two later for double the price once they've proven themselves a bit more.

Far too young to be writing him off. Yes I would have like to see him more this season, but hope for more next.
Its a settling season, he's young and come from a country that's vastly different, learning English football (and language no doubt), its a big step up from where he's come from.
He's a long term project, I would start to judge him after 3-4 years. Only at the point can we say if he was worth the money.

Mostly it does. It was patently obvious where Gerrard was heading long before he'd reached Grujic's age.
I'm not writing the guy off, just saying that if he was going to be anything like that quality it would be obvious.
Anyway, giving people "The New ....." whoever tag is just daft anyway.

Difference is Gerrard came had spent years at our club and was English. Grujic has moved from another country and has to aclimatise to a new culture and learn a new language.Sometimes we do forget that footballers are human.

And I think fans are forgetting he has suffered some injuries this season which disrupted everything.

Players progress at different times and progress better in different circumstances/environments. You can argue that Gerrard was surrounded by better players and leaders which helped him to develop (also means he was exceptional to get a look in).

If you look at our youngsters now, who could they turn to and learn from? I suppose if you're an attacker, you could learn a lot from Coutinho/Firmino/Mane but any other position, you're ****ed.

Agree with your last point entirely.

Bayern Munich star Douglas Costa has ‘liked’ a tweet linking him with a move to Liverpool.
The 26-year-old has enjoyed a productive season at the Bundesliga giants, scoring seven goals in 32 appearances in all competitions, and has been heavily linked with a switch to Anfield.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is said to be a huge admirer of Costa, weighing up a £26million summer swoop for his services.
And amid speculation that he could leave the Allianz Arena at the end of the season, Costa has teased Liverpool fans on social media.
A user tweeted: ‘Sadio Mane, Philippe Coutinho, Douglas Costa and Roberto Firmino. I can already envisage the best attack in Europe in 2017/18′, and Costa responded with a ‘like’.

Could be possible. One of our main targets Julian Brandt might be more likely to pick Bayern over us, so I guess that frees up Costa.

IMO a like is not actually anything but what people do when they read something. a like is not actually saying much as theres few actual options and peopel just click like if the read something these days

    It is a nothing story.

I tDejan Lovren has today signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool Football Club.
The centre-back put pen to paper on the deal at Melwood on Friday morning to commit his future to the Reds.
Lovren is approaching the end of his third season with the club, having signed from Southampton in July 2014. He has since clocked up 105 appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals.
Moments after inking the new contract, he told Liverpoolfc.com: “I think this is one special day for me and my family.
“I think I am the happiest guy [in the world] today, it’s another dream come true. It was always my dream to stay as long as possible at one club that I love – and that is Liverpool.
“After all that happened in the beginning, in the last two seasons I think I’ve done better than in the first season. The club has rewarded me, they believed in me and also the fans, and this is what I respect a lot after everything that happened.
“I am pleased with everything and I just want to stay here as long as possible and be a part of this family for many, many years
I told you, Klopp loves him !

Migs signed a new contract and Klopp signed a new keeper straight away. I'm sure Klopp is doing the same for LCB.

£100k a week for Lovren - good to see that we're using our resources wisely.

We pay more in wages than city Arsenal and Spurs...
