Bascially ayre's mouthpiece comments today show he club up as not being able to recognise talent. the same reasons were given on VVD when apparently LFC looked at him at celtic. decisions need ot be made on talent with genuine football eyes not by track records If ayre and edwards (who btw this comes from cos he has not enough to put in a spreadsheet to cough up an answer) had been in charge in the 70s and 80s LFc would never have bought 90% of the players LFC made into top top players. LFC's best signings were players we saw ability in and guided. souness and rush spring immediatley to mind for example Its this simple. Baseball and moneyball works cos you have 100s of games up the chain with stats to work on.. but trying to buy football talent you need to actually know what to look at with your eyes and see it before the stats make it obvious.
One of the best youngsters in the Buli and has been instrumental in them getting CL qualification. Would give our midfield much needed drive and pace.
I hope we go all out for him because he's special and is exactly what we need in the middle of the park.
I reckon its happening cos he will drop dead of a heart attack in a years time. everyone else has backed off.. so we doubled our offer. #moneyball edwards
When Klopp bought Marko Grujic people said he is going to be new Gerard. What happened since then. I do not want my expectation raised again.
Doesn't happen overnight mate - plus he's had injuries. We have to be patient with these young players.
Why anyone would want to call a kid bought for 5mil the next gerrard i dunno. Like.... ok alli has PROVEN over two years he is the next gerrard but any kid who's just starting out... its a bit unfair. Nobody called alli at 16 when we could have bought him the next anything but a lot of guys knew he was an exciting talent already.
Grujic also looked ok in a sh!t league. From what I've seen of him for us, he is very average. This Keita bloke has been playing well for a team in 2nd in a top top league.
We could have bought Keita for a £10m fee and 50k per week last year but we didn't think he was worth it. Have to ask if the people who make these decisions actually have a f#cking clue at all!!
