Would he still be pelted with coins, plastic bottles and spit every time he took a corner at the Gladwys St End?

Not really... You're assuming professionals would put childhood rivalry ahead of fame, fortune and career. Trust me- if you were offered fortune and riches- even you would come play for Liverpool!

see tobes is desperate to assign some morals or values to the lad but what if he's not baines and isn't satisfied with where he's at and just phooks off..... died in the nothing... the reality is if chavs of citeh offer for him he will go... but if lfc represent a chance to win trophies then if he's any ambition he'd just have to stab al t he bitters in the back.

reality check for liverpool fans is we don't offer clear route to trophies now.

i guess City would see Barkley as a long term Toure replacement. They do seem keen on becoming more self sufficient, bringing in young talent and investing in youth.

I think Mancini was actually very fond of Rodwell but injuries got inn the way. Pelligrini obviously didnt rate him.

Buying a young player for £50m doesn't count as being self sufficient and bringing in youth <whistle>

No. But this is City were are talking about.

Its there version of what Ajax do.

  10. Ajax won't even be able to do what Ajax do if Fifa ban third party ownership as has been suggested in today's media.

Make a huge difference to Porto. They get all their success from getting decent Brazilian's for cheap through it.

    #311
  12. Yeah, Porto's whole philosophy is based on part ownership and as been for years. They would potentially be hit the hardest. Ajax do it too but not as much, Ajax as always had a good youth policy too.

We are now being linked with Marek Hamsik and Andre-Pierre Gignac, for January.

    From Tony Barrett on Twitter:

Can we have Pogba in return?

It looks like we may have to look at CB's for January. If we do, lets not waste it this time.

Johnson can **** off for free. Sakho I think would be hasty to sell, especially since Skrtel and Lovren don't exactly look rock solid and that would only leave Calamity Toure as backup.

Big bid or Pogba would suit me.

Dont mention a free transfer if they are offering a fee!

Sell Sakho if we can get a better replacement in straight away.

You'd kiss the badge for the right price! <ok>

You're neutral- why should you hold back from playing for Liverpool?

  18. Manchester United told Cristiano Ronaldo deal must wait until 2016

Manchester United have a genuine chance of bringing Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford in a transfer worth a reported £79 million, but Real Madrid won't allow that deal to become a reality until 2016 at the very earliest.

That is according to Spanish journalist Guillem Balague, who believes Ronaldo would love the chance to play for United again before he retires but has absolutely no chance of making that happen either in January or next summer.

Madrid are simply unwilling to consider Ronaldo while the Ballon d'Or winner is at the peak of his powers, but when the potent Portuguese superstar shows any signs of a decline their position could well change.

Good things come to those who wait

Balague told the weekly Sky Sports programme Revista de la Liga: “It is quite clear that Manchester United are letting all this continue because they are interested in Cristiano Ronaldo.

“Cristiano Ronaldo dreams and would like to go back to Manchester United. It’s just the timing which I think people are getting wrong.

"People want this to happen in January, if possible. It’s not going to happen. In the summer? I don’t think it’s going to happen. Real Madrid have got no intention whatsoever of selling Cristiano Ronaldo next summer.

“In two years’ time I would say yes, that is possibly the time when he will be 31 going on 32, for Real Madrid to say: ‘OK, if we can cash in on him, brilliant. He has done a lot for us, but that’s it, time to move on.

“I don’t think it’s going to happen this summer. People will have to be a little bit more patient.”

Red Devils won't give up on emotional transfer

It looks like United will have to be patient if their efforts to re-sign Ronaldo are truly genuine, but you have to question if the sums quoted to make the deal happen are seriously worth considering.

Madrid would want to recoup around £60m for undoubtedly for their talisman even if they made a shock decision to sell, while Ronaldo's wage demands coupled with considerable earning potential in terms of commercial and image rights would cost United a quite £500,000-a-week.

United have proved with a club-record £150m summer transfer spend that they are not afraid to pay a premium for the world's best players, but even the emotional attachment surrounding Ronaldo would make those sums tough to justify if they have to wait until the ruthless forward is 31.

Madrid have big plans for Ronaldo and are even considering a switch to centre-forward to take advantage of his unique physical attributes, so it's time to press pause on a rumour mill which has gone wild over the last three weeks in particular.

Now linked with Alli of MK Dons. Anyone know what he is like, trouble with lower league players is they can look great against crap teams, but do not move up to Prem level. I would have preferred it if Dons had played a decent prem team in the past so we could see what he was like, even if it was only the League Cup. But as they have not we will just have to take a chance I suppose.
