Yeah Pelle is likely off. That's it. We'll get some decent types in to replace them. Doing our thing of getting all the **** stuff out the way early, then we'll announce new manager and start the good stuff. Already signed Redmond who could end up a good player I think.
Fair shout actually. Think you'll miss Wanyama? Never liked him to be honest. Not sure I believe the Joe Allen rumours... Don't think he'd improve on Steven Davis. Then again who would.
Conte loves Pelle. Pelle loves Conte. Again, would be a bit of a shame, but it's expected, he's only a year left on contract and has a knackered knee. On his way down, and very replaceable.
We'll miss him for his physicality, but less so his passing ability, put it that way! He's a great shield though, but I'm not sure Romeu is a downgrade - he's a lot more dynamic and progressive. Also rumoured to be looking at Thomas from Atletico who could actually be an upgrade. Wanyama is a beast, but he struggles with some of the basics of the game.
That's my view. He will be found out big time if Spurs adopt an attacking game in Europe. Lucas would do a great job for you, not that it's a possibility
One other thing about Mané - even if he's not having a great game, like any player with genuine pace, he scares the hell out of defenders, so as a result they instinctively play deep against him. So without him doing anything, his presence will create space for the likes of Coutinho, and to a lesser extent Lallana, to operate in.
Looking forward to him signing even if it just means he doesn't terrify our defence! Should at least help them in training as well.
Not sure where I stand on Mane. I still think there are more talented, younger and cheaper players out there but at least he adds a different dimension to our attack. Hope he finds consistency because then he can become an asset. The price is far too much though.
I think it'll look like one of the cheaper deals come the end of the window mate. Troy Devney for £30m ffs?
Just saying in general mate. People moan about spending £35m on Mane but there's much worse we could have (and have done in the past!) spent it on.
