My issue is that it isn't panic buying. It's buying that's been needed for ages. He's the one who's labelled it panic buying just so that he can say to the media that we shouldn't do it. Who exactly is telling him that he should panic buy? No-one. The people telling him to buy are doing so regardless of that result and have done for a long time. He's using 'panic buying' as an excuse right now in case he can't sign anyone.

If he signs someone he'll say 'we planned this anyway'. If he signs no-one he's got the 'not going to panic buy' already on the table.

Cech was a good buy and an upgrade. Which is what we need to do in two other positions too. So why are those two positions considered panic buys now when we've needed them just as much as a GK?

1. Pretty much everybody after we have a bad result
2. Those positions aren't considered as panic buys.

The whole 'panic buy' issue is only raised by Wenger when people go ape that he should buy somebody when we have a bad result. The point is that he will be trying to get his targets regardless of those results.

Oh come now we can afford Ridonk wages for a few years. Take him in a heartbeat. EPL and German league are the only 2 two major leagues he hasnt played for so I think the idea might appeal to him. Realistically I dont see him leaving but would love him at Arsenal. That being said I really don't see us signing anyone before the window shuts, do you?

I'd take ibrahimovic on a two year deal. Can't see it happening but even at 34 he's a quality player and would be a good addition.

I'd love for that to happen as well, but I can't see it, and I can't see us affording his wages (especially at his age) unfortunately :(

I think it's highly unlikely but at his age and moving to another top league he may be willing to sign a more reasonable contract. It'll be interesting to see what his next move is.

We've also been linked to PSGs other strikers:

Cavani and Lavezzi.

And supposedly Gotze.

I'd take Cavani definitely.

I'm sure I read somewhere that he got sent off for head-butting another player while playing for Sunderland U21's during his first match <laugh>

That's why it was a close shave from us. Apparently Advocaat told him you can't be doing this kinda thing here....

But it is a shame as he clearly has talent. Just imagine him and Balotelli get together for a party....
