Not taking a shot on Chambers obviously, he's been great, but if we needed to improve defensively and all we did is replace 2 established players with 2 others, we haven't improved. We didn't add anything.
In Sagna's case he was also at least a bit better defensively than Debuchy, who may still prove to be better overall. But Sagna did a lot of defensive work for the CBs.
Sanchez-Campbell are an improvement, but it's a case of 1 step forward, 2 steps back.
