Depends on what you mean by "stuffed up another season". Frankly, this squad is a doubt for getting Top 4 as it is. Without a quality striker our attacking potency is just not there (you can put Walcott and Sanchez in that midfield all you want and it's not going to be enough without someone up front), and without a DM our defense isn't able to handle the big clubs. At this point, securing Top 4 so we can kick on next season is the only priority for me. Anything else is a bonus.
Well every man and his dog knows there are two positions we need filling and thus far nothing has been done about either,this for me will determine the ambition of the club this season,we either want to be in pot 1 with the other three or its pot 2 with the chasing pack and a scrap again for fourth,the coming hours will be very telling one way or the other.
I think a cb is pretty certain and we will get a striker and dm only if one of really top quality can be signed.
Unless there are players the club have been working on for a while, then I don't see an Ozil-esque signing being pulled out of the bag. If nobody else comes in it'll mean another nervous season of hoping there are no injuries at the back and that the other forwards can step up to fill the gap left by the injured Giroud (neither of which are beyond the realms of possibility).
Wenger only knows how to sign Attacking midfielders and wingers so expect more of them. Centre forwards and Defensive midfielders.. Forget about it.

Not taking a shot on Chambers obviously, he's been great, but if we needed to improve defensively and all we did is replace 2 established players with 2 others, we haven't improved. We didn't add anything. In Sagna's case he was also at least a bit better defensively than Debuchy, who may still prove to be better overall. But Sagna did a lot of defensive work for the CBs.
