How many times do Barca need to tell United that Cesc is not for sale? It must be getting awkward by now.

Liverpool seem to be waiting for a 50 million bid. Also, Suarez has said he wants to leave. Oh, and Arsenal's last bid was designed to allow talks to take place. So there's 3 very important differences!Probably the same amount of times as Liverpool and Suarez![]()

Yeah lots of arsenal fans have been slating Moyes for being an amateur for persisting with Fab. Yet have no issue with the Suarez. Football fans have such Myopia. Lets not forget Wenger saying RVP, Fab , Nasri not going - still happens. FFS football fans need to grow up.
What i find interesting is Ian Ayres saying that Liverpool have no "intention" of selling Suarez. It reminds me of politics,a rumour goes around that a political party is going to introduce a law when in power. If that law is controvertial, the party is asked by a journalist if said law will be introduced. The reply is usually"We have no plans"
Ayres did not say "We will definitely not sell Suarez" just that Liverpool have no "intention".He has chosen his words very carefully.
We've bid £40M and Liverpool want £50M.If we are to get him I've no doubt there will be a compromise in the fee.It means **** all really. I remember Wenger said something similar re Cesc and Nasri and we sold both. Rodgers said a few weeks ago that Reina would not leave Liverpool, then said he wouldn't be loaned out and a few days later that is what happened! If we meet the £50M asking price then they will give him to us, the thing is, as long as there is a possibility we can get him for cheaper with this release clause, the longer this will drag out. I don't think Suarez is willing to hand in a transfer request wavering his loyalty bonuses when he feels we have bid enough money for Pool to sell to us.
If Liverpool do sell him then Ayres has the fall back of being able to say "We didn't intend to sell at the time"Good point. He also said "we have no intention to sell", I may be wrong, but that could reflect on their reticence and not Suarez's desire to move.

)Gerv close to joining Roma. Gonna be a bit light next season unless we sign a replacement.
I think Wenger and the board are not stupid, they know they can't release without bringing in new faces. At the moment we are thin, very thin squad-wise. First team looks reasonably settled. Despite what others say, I think we don't need too many more players in the first team to effectively challenge for some silverware. A brilliant striker being one of them. A holding mid is another priority. If Gerv is going, we'll bring in another LW? The main adjustments need to take place at squad level, we are light in certain areas, one being a top class goalie. Not really convinced by Fabianski. Too inconsistent. We also need backups for our CBS although Sagna has solved this problem somewhat. I hope we invest in some decent squad players this window.
First team are looking settled, but yes we still need a striker. I think it would be ideal if we could get another MF and I agree we need move cover at CB. We've shipped out Squillaci and Djourou and with Vermaelen out too - there are options with Sagna at CB and competition at RB to allow that, we still need to add another defender imo
If you need a striker then you shouldn't be looking at Suarez, he is a forward, not a striker; subtle difference being the players ability to hit the target on a regular basis, Suarez doesn't!
