Wasn't perez quoted a few weeks ago saying that if someone came in with a bid of 30 million euros (25 million pounds) that they might as well not bother making contract. This suggests that they are looking for way more than 25 million, that's the reason the HiguaÃn deal has hit the buffers, so if we have to pay close to 35 million, who do you think would be better, suarez or HiguaÃn. Personally I think suarez is the better player, but I've not seen that much of HiguaÃn. And I dont think he is worth more than 25 million.
So the question is should we just pay suarez release clause and be done with it, it's a lot of money. The club could be playing the long game here, he will be banned for the first 6 games anyway, so it does not matter much if we get him now or end of aug. If HiguaÃn stays at madrid, its unlikely they will go for suarez, so where else can he go? If he starts making a right fuss at liverpool, or even goes on strike (would it surprise you) or a tevez and not turn up, 30 million might be an attractive offer to Liverpool. It is obviously a risky strategy, but ATM suaraz has nowhere else to go and no one else seems that interested in him, or willing to pay 30 million plus except us.
