Not at all. And don't wish to come across as cocky. Just optimistic that Jose can instill team spirit that will make us tough to beat and that we can improve on last season by up to and around 10 points
Mourinho on Rooney: "He's a player I like very much but I can't say more. He's fast and direct, but he is a Man Utd player." If our interest in Suarez is true then I very much see Rooney in a Chelsea shirt next season.
David Ornstein ‏@bbcsport_david 2m Arsenal pursuing Higuain & Suarez in hope of signing one. No fee agreed on Higuain, probably need to pay £40m release clause for Suarez #afc This is the only guy on twitter I will never question.
Geoff 'Goebbels' Arsenal is a shill, a stooge, a yes man and an apologist, in cahoots with the Illuminati and hell-bent on turning Arsenal fans into sheeple while the ticking time bomb of the new Socialist order at the club edges closer to zero hour. Or something like that
Wasn't perez quoted a few weeks ago saying that if someone came in with a bid of 30 million euros (25 million pounds) that they might as well not bother making contract. This suggests that they are looking for way more than 25 million, that's the reason the HiguaÃn deal has hit the buffers, so if we have to pay close to 35 million, who do you think would be better, suarez or HiguaÃn. Personally I think suarez is the better player, but I've not seen that much of HiguaÃn. And I dont think he is worth more than 25 million. So the question is should we just pay suarez release clause and be done with it, it's a lot of money. The club could be playing the long game here, he will be banned for the first 6 games anyway, so it does not matter much if we get him now or end of aug. If HiguaÃn stays at madrid, its unlikely they will go for suarez, so where else can he go? If he starts making a right fuss at liverpool, or even goes on strike (would it surprise you) or a tevez and not turn up, 30 million might be an attractive offer to Liverpool. It is obviously a risky strategy, but ATM suaraz has nowhere else to go and no one else seems that interested in him, or willing to pay 30 million plus except us.
I would still prefer Higuain over Suarez. I know he is a great player, but I would feel seriously uncomfortable with supporting a player like Suarez. The guy is a scumbag and the way he is treating Liverpool is a disgrace.
If I supported any other club then I would 100% agree with you but Arsenal need to make a state of intent and the only bigger statement we could make is signing Bale.
I think this year even the decent sources are getting very little to go on. There is very, very little real news on transfers. It is still very early, and at this stage almost all contact is informal. No one really knows if Arsenal have even spoken to Liverpool about Suarez. The papers can print anything they want, because the clubs are not confirming or denying anything. My own view is that Wenger knows who he wants and knows who he is going to get right now, but doesn't want to pay over the odds and he doesn't want the player to go on the Asia tour where he cant work with them properly. Look for players to join when we get back from the tour, 2-3 weeks before the start of the season. I think there are 3 first team players coming in (maximum), and probably only one or two are established stars. I suspect that only a very few people know who they are and they are not talking to anyone.
you only have a war chest of 70 million,Bale would cost you at least 80 million, and i don't think Levy would sell him to you!!
