**** me, £100m. Have Liverpool not learned their lesson?

For that much, we should be going for Kroupi Jr and steering away from this.

Fabrizio reporting we have 'genuine interest' in Bradley Barcola - any takers?

He's not good enough for the PL.
Would actually be a HUGE downgrade on Trossard or Martinelli.

I have my doubts on Kvaratskhelia in the PL, never mind Barcola.
Barcola is the kind of player that can be good in a game here and there - over a PL season and having to play the game in and out of possession ? .. **** no.

I can see that the LW has become the new 'we need a 20 PL goals striker to win the league' trope and it's going to persist amongst the tacticos on social media. Apparently it's absolutely vital to get a new LW or we're doomed.

Reality check - Trossard and Martinelli shared the season this year and together played the equivalent of a full season in which they had a combined 35 G+A (often vital ones in the PL and CL) ... which by the way is not only excellent but better than we had on the right hand side, better than Doku+Savihno, better than any other left side in the PL.

Na I would say Barcola is about the same level as Martinelli.

But I think Kvartschelia is top 3 WF in the world right now. Technically he's on another level and he's extremely hardworking - its unusual to have 'flair player' that this tenacious/industrious.

Lots of twitter heat on Morgan Rogers and Arteta personally being involved in driving it. Maybe HE’S who Arteta wants on the left. Or Rogers, Eze, Saka as a flexible three behind the striker.

Made up click bait and engagement farming.
There is zero chance the management team are focused on any transfers a few days before the CL final and if they were then it would be ultra secret.
You don’t start talking about replacements in positions of players who are preparing for Saturday.

Whenever you see a rumour assume it is not only false but that the account pushing it is a c”nt. If that is what you assume you will be right 99% of the time.

If we beat PSG - We need to try and still Kvartschelia too. <laugh>
I also think Valverde would be perfect for us if he's looking to move.
Another controversial one is Ramsdale - sell Kepa bring back Aaron. He was playing backup at Newcastle and Soton so he may as well come back home. For me he fits our style playing out from the back much better than Kepa - and the fans love him.

Frankly this squad would dominate and its only 3 signings:

Kvartscehlia-------------Havertz--------------------Saka
-----------Valverde-------------------Eze---------------
---------------------------Rice--------------------------
Calafiori--------Gabriel------------Saliba---------Timber
---------------------------Raya-------------------------

Bench: Gyokeres, Odegaard, Hincape, Havertz, Merino, Zubimendi, Ramsdale.
Dowman, Nwaneri, Mosquera, White and Martinelli.

Literally the only thing we really need is a midfielder to replace Zubimendi.
Of course if players decide to leave, which is possible given the heightened competition for game time in a squad as overloaded as we have, then we will need to replace them

In a way though MLS has done this.

I feel like I would rather us sign a creative number 8 rather than another DM - I don't like Havertz or Merino as an 8 (but they can offer backup cover)

LCM: MLS and Valverde (then Merino)
DM: Rice and Zubi
AMF: Eze/Odegaard, Nwaneri.

I do like Rogers a lot, he's a physical beast and his numbers are good.

We have Odegaard, Eze, Nwaneri and Dowman as the creative group.
Maybe Nwaneri and Dowman are too young and 1 more would be good.
However, I don't like us playing 2 creative 8's.

Thing is it should be horses for courses, we need to move away from one size fits all. In some games having 2 more defensive CMs is not a problem, SAF used to do that against big teams. In other games its overkill and not necessary.

None of our CMs are the same whatsoever, they all offer something different, we should utilise specific players for specific games.

I don't think it's quite a 4-3-3 I think it's more DM/CM and AM not exactly a 4-2-1-3 but closer to that. I know Odegaard drops deep when he plays but that's not really tactical as Arteta has said in recent press conferences.
