Fabrizio reporting we have 'genuine interest' in Bradley Barcola - any takers?
It’s just I object to our left side being called a weakness when it is one of the most productive around.Jay, you are a tough crowd!!
Na I would say Barcola is about the same level as Martinelli. He's not good enough for the PL.
Would actually be a HUGE downgrade on Trossard or Martinelli.
I have my doubts on Kvaratskhelia in the PL, never mind Barcola.
Barcola is the kind of player that can be good in a game here and there - over a PL season and having to play the game in and out of possession ? .. **** no.
I can see that the LW has become the new 'we need a 20 PL goals striker to win the league' trope and it's going to persist amongst the tacticos on social media. Apparently it's absolutely vital to get a new LW or we're doomed.
Reality check - Trossard and Martinelli shared the season this year and together played the equivalent of a full season in which they had a combined 35 G+A (often vital ones in the PL and CL) ... which by the way is not only excellent but better than we had on the right hand side, better than Doku+Savihno, better than any other left side in the PL.
Made up click bait and engagement farming.Lots of twitter heat on Morgan Rogers and Arteta personally being involved in driving it. Maybe HE’S who Arteta wants on the left. Or Rogers, Eze, Saka as a flexible three behind the striker.
Kroupi to replace Jesus.
Rogers to replace Martinelli (or sadly more likely Nwaneri).
Livramento to replace White.
In a way though MLS has done this.Literally the only thing we really need is a midfielder to replace Zubimendi.
Of course if players decide to leave, which is possible given the heightened competition for game time in a squad as overloaded as we have, then we will need to replace them
People keep saying this but I don't think Livramento is any better than White - seems like a transfer for absolutely no reason.Kroupi to replace Jesus.
Rogers to replace Martinelli (or sadly more likely Nwaneri).
Livramento to replace White.
In a way though MLS has done this.
I feel like I would rather us sign a creative number 8 rather than another DM - I don't like Havertz or Merino as an 8 (but they can offer backup cover)
LCM: MLS and Valverde (then Merino)
DM: Rice and Zubi
AMF: Eze/Odegaard, Nwaneri.
I do like Rogers a lot, he's a physical beast and his numbers are good.
I don't think it's quite a 4-3-3 I think it's more DM/CM and AM not exactly a 4-2-1-3 but closer to that. I know Odegaard drops deep when he plays but that's not really tactical as Arteta has said in recent press conferences. We have Odegaard, Eze, Nwaneri and Dowman as the creative group.
Maybe Nwaneri and Dowman are too young and 1 more would be good.
However, I don't like us playing 2 creative 8's.
