Good news and now we have some much needed reinforcement in midfield. Let's see if we can get another signing in...
He's taller by 0.2m and 3kgs heavier than Coqs. Not beastly but he's not a midget weakling by an stretch. If he's smart and intercepts well, then he'll do well for us.
If Wenger wants to try and sign Alvaro Morata now would be the time. Real Madrid have a £25.1 Million buy back clause but are currently under a transfer ban.
He has 3 goals in 25 appearances this season. That's not clinical and it's not exactly what we need right now.
Real can buy players and register them until the end of this transfer window, but then can't register any for the next two windows (only buy and not register or sell players).
Wenger also hinted that his own transfer business for January was complete - insisting he just wants the players he has to return from injury. He added: “I would prefer to have my players back from their injuries. [Danny] Welbeck is two to three weeks away and I am confident I will not find a better player than Welbeck on the market.” It doesn't specifically say no more transfers, but a forward is unlikely. Positive note is Welbeck is back, though i'm wondering how he'll get into the first 11.
I thought that it was back in September that welbeck was supposed to be a few weeks away from fitness...
Inaki Williams of Athletic Bilbao, just oozes with class, talent, and can finish with aplomb. He is going to be the next superstar from the Iberian Peninsula. Let's hope he is picked for Spain in the Euros as their current strikers look rather wooden (taking lessons from Rooney there) If Sterling is worth 48m then this guy is worth 65m easily.
Danny Welbeck is a terrible football player and nowhere near good enough for Arsenal. If Wenger TRULY thinks that then FFS.
As always we are gonna have to disagree. Good to have Wellbeck back, think he can be a valuable squad player of the next few months. The Ox's form has been dreadful of late and we could do with a sub who can inject something into a game. Wellbecks pace/power can be a useful asset for the team
If Welbeck could improve his finishing then he'd be a really decent player. As it is he offers a lot in opening up teams and pulling defences out of shape, so that makes him a dangerous player. As mentioned he'll offer more than the Ox, who has been pretty disappointing this season. Glad to see Welbeck getting back near the squad.
The issue is Welbeck has been playing in the Premier League for 8 seasons now, he's 25 years old and still looks no better than when he first came onto the scene. And this is after playing under one of the greatest managers of all time. He has his uses, but his erratic finishing in front of goal will always be his major downfall and we can't afford to have someone so profligate leading the line. He will get his chance and I hope to God he proves me wrong, but if we miss out on a top quality striker in the Summer for the sole purpose of nurturing Welbeck, it will be a pretty poor decision, in my opinion. I just don't think he is good enough for us and he has not done anything in an Arsenal shirt to change my mind.
You could put Grabban in an Arsenal shirt and there would be posters on here saying 'he's useful and can do a job for us'. Blinkered beyond belief.
